If you can convince her then I don’t think you will regret upgrading to a ZL1 instead of modding your SS!👍

Just to play devil’s advocate, had a s/c Mustang GT that dyno’d at 650hp. From a launch traction was always an issue. Crazy fast from a roll. I personally didn’t like the Whipple whine and power felt similar to a turbo. Couldn’t use most of it on the street either. Gas mpg was horrid too.
Way happier in my n/a SS. Still tons of power I can’t use. Plus you’re shelling out a ton. |

This week we went up to Duluth,MN for our anniversary. It’s about 1.5hrs away, but we ended up coming back a day to do UTV rental & then went back up. So all in all over 6hrs of driving in 4 days. When I filled up on the way back up the range calculator said 468 miles. I don’t really like AFM, the sound is annoying, but the mileage is nice to have. |

If you are going to supercharge your SS then the mileage will go down and I’m pretty sure you have to disable the AFM to run one on your LT1. With that new found power you would tend the drive the car faster and harder than before having a s/c. I have been there and done that coming from an SS to the ZL1.

You can mod an SS but it's still an SS - feels like a rental car in comparison to me Last edited by ZX-10R; 08-15-2020 at 12:41 PM. |

Man have prices gone up since I last looked. On the bright side, now I don’t think I’d take less than $25K in trade for mine.
A really nice ‘18 not far from me for a damn good price, but it’s a 6spd. Factory incentives really suck for new as well. |

Sticks may not be as fast, but they are certainly more fun! (IMO)

My dealer just offered me more than $3,000 additional in trade than he did in February. The price for the new one is lower too, so the net savings to me is more than $4,000.

I just recently this week traded my 15 1SS for a 17 ZL1 with 12,600miles on it, got what I thought an amazing deal on it, 43 and some change. WOW, what a difference in power, you wont regret it

I found one I wouldn’t mind having with <1K miles. It’s the right color as well, just a little out of my price range. Don’t want to go backwards in model year, preferably ‘19-20 for more warranty time, & lower than 6K miles. What made the wife change her mind was I said in a conversation “Oh no, I’d never sell it.” So she said, “ Well you gotta tell me that, cause if you did I would have been more open to it.” Getting our roofing quote this week so we’ll see what our finances are after that. Add: I’m still having a hard time contemplating the financials. Wife want to put enough down to get payment well below 600/ month. That means over $10K down or more. For that kind of money that is a SC & quite a few supporting mods to be near equal in power. Last edited by gtfoxy; 08-16-2020 at 01:49 PM. |

It’s a 2018 1SS 1LE with less than 2,000 miles, thanks to a couple of surgeries. The offer was what the KBB bot on the dealer’s website said for a car in excellent condition: $35,640, which the dealer said he’d do. New car at GM Supplier pricing, $1,500 rebate to me. I was pretty surprised.
