SOOO glad I upgraded from a 5th gen vert

I made a big mistake buying the 2011 SS vert....it looked so good at the time, but over the years, it just became a pain....

-The car was already heavy, and being a vert made it even HEAVIER...I did Headers/CAI/Tune, gained 40hp and was still slower than my 6th gen
-The carpet behind the drivers seat was always damp, but I could never find any leak
-EVERTHING rattled...everytime I went over a bump, the whole top would rattle and sounded so bad
-The horror stories of the 2011/2012 tops failing and needing to be completely replaced (thankfully I was fine)
-Going through a touchless wash would cause the passenger and driver windows to leak
-The fact that convertibles in Canada doesn't make too much sense....

I loved the car, and I thought I would never let it go, but the 6th gen is just another beast. This car is built SO solid. No rattles or anything, and drives with so much more power than my old car. I absolutely love it

I attached a pic of what I had, and what I traded it in for

Looking to do the same myself in the upcoming year. I currently drive a 10 SS M6 car, and though I love driving it, the new car is so much more. I can't friggin wait!

We traded our '11 SS Vert in on a '17 SS Coupe also.

Although we never had any issues with the '11, it was just time for a new one.
We really like this new one better, although just thinking about our old 5th Gen still brings a smile to my face.

When I first saw the concept car on the 2006 Power Tour, I knew we would have to get one if they every came back.

The '17 is our 4th Camaro.
1969 SS, 1975 Type LT, 2011 2SS Vert, 2017 2SS Coupe.

Now, if we just had that '69 back.

I like your old wheels though. Did you ever think about keeping them for the new car?

I know the feeling and sympathize with you. Had a 2011 2SS, headers, CAI, SLP catback, BTR Stage 2 cam= 465 rwhp, lowered and many other upgrades. Said I'd have til I die and then came a test drive last June and the rest is history!

I had a modded 2010 2SS LS3 6 speed with many SLP Performance parts that I really liked and planned to hold on to it but after I took my '16 2SS for a test drive I was hooked on the 6 Gen. So much better car than the Gen 5 and was faster too. Enjoy your new coupe and congratulations!!

The differences between the Gen5 and Gen6 are night and day imo (see OPs pictures). It is such a better (way more refined) car and I'm so glad that I waited (almost bought a 2014).
