Why does my 2017 v6 manual camaro lag when i hit second gear?

Every single time i hit second gear it lags a bit and it feels like im putting pressure on my drivetrain. Anybody know why this happens?

That doesn't happen to me at all you are talking about a six-speed manual right?. Has it just started happening do you think you could be bad gas you might want to take it in to get it checked out.

In all fairness though I'm still doing the break-in. So if you're shifting a 6500 or 7000 RPM I have no idea how that will yet.

How many kilometers/miles are on your car

I had some trouble getting the pedal modulation right and would experience this. It took quite a few thousand miles for me to get used to it... I just wasn't properly mixing the the throttle application / clutch uptake.

Could it be the infernal gizmo built in that shifts directly from 1st to 4th under certain conditions? I have trouble with this on occasion.

Whoever thought up this stupid gimmick should be condemned for eternity to have it on every car he ever owns!

By the way, I think this gizmo was a bad idea! LOL!

Skip shift eliminator... about 15 bucks on Amazon. Doesn't make the message go away, but bypasses the CAGS cylenoid.

or...just accelerate faster than Hoke Colburn?

Honestly I haven't really had it even try to force but a handful of times, but I agree the eliminator is a cheap fix, I may try it.

That's not in the V6 car with the 6M gearbox.

As for the OPs original question, it's related to the infernal delay GM programmed into the throttle pedal. It's horrible, and yes you can get used to it with time but I still hate it.

I even had my son in law look at the programming on mine when he had it at the dealership last month. No problem, it's working as they designed it.

skip shift helps save from paying the gas guzzler tax for us M6 SS owners.
Its really not an issue though; don't try to shift to second at 1500 or 2000 rpm. It seems that is when it activates. Wind up to 2500 or 3000 rpm when going to 2nd and skip shift isn't an issue. Not sure if its on a V6, if so, the rpm s may be slightly different; but you get the idea.

If its manual, the clutch is probably slipping.

Yeah no skip shift on the V6.

I agree about the delay in the throttle pedal. I bought a throttle controller and it helps, but I've since quit using it and drive the car as it was designed. I'm used to it now.

At low speeds I go from 1 to 3 anyway.

I have the LGX with 6 speed and I have found 1-2 gears are really close together. I very rarely use 2 gear but have no issues with the way it pulls. About the only time I use it is when I am still crawling and don't have to come to a complete stop. The LGX does not have the 1-4 skip, thats only on the SS to meet federal fuel regs.
