Unhappy Apple Car Play

Hey guys i recently bought a gen 6 camaro and was stoked about the apple play feature on the car. But i just can't seem to get it to work. I've tried both usb ports and nothing. I have an iPhone 7 plus and all my software is up to date. Maybe you guys could help me. I am planning to take a weekend road trip up to San Francisco and it would be nice to have all the features working. My care is equipped with the 7 inch infotainment system

From the Iphone
1. Go to setting
2. Click general
3. click carplay
4. plug in the phone
5. click USB only
6. add the car to your phone.

it should work after that..

Siri must also be enabled on the phone for it to work (that was my issue).

IDK if you bought a brand new one or not, but the first cars that were sold had to get a dealer update to get apple car play

Maybe Apple Play is turned off. Also make sure you are using a Genuine Apple Lighting cable. I had an Amazon Certified Apple lightning cable and it would not work properly. It works 90% of the time, but it is full of glitches.

Have you tried it with other phones? I hope it's just a settings issue. I had the iPhone 5s and then upgraded to the iPhone 7 and have had no problems with it.

Is there POWER going through the USB ports? For instance, when you plug in, does it at least charge? If not, your port(s) are broken which happened to a lot of us that got the car in the first few months.

If you're getting power, try a bunch of different cables including your stock Apple cable. Also the settings that others have mentioned.

Have you talked to the dealer yet?

That was for 8" Mylink units and only for Android Auto. All myLink units for the 6th gen shipped with CarPlay support.

I could not sync when I picked mine up so the salesman did the updates. I had one USB cord work and one did not. Another issue I had was a friend who tried to sync his phone with my car, he totally screwed up My Link and I had to delete his and mine and sync mine back in.

Make sure wifi is on or off depending on whether your Camaro is equipped with it. It seems to stop commands.
