I put a Procharger on my 2016 SS Convertible, and had to take The crossmember (goes from shocktower to shocktower) off to fit the new air filter. Is that going to screw up my handling and fron suspension? Is there a different stiffener I can get??

Looks like it might fit, If not Heat that tube with a heat gun and flatten it SLIGHTLY so it will fit. I would not leave the tower brace off.

I would think normally it would not be a big deal to leave it off, but the fact its a convertible WITH all that extra power from the Procharger, its probably safest to install it somehow.

BMR makes an offering that is much smaller made of steel that has a different path over the engine, which may interest you.

Actually you still have the strut tower braces on, they are the ones that run from the strut tower the firewall. The one that goes from strut tower to strut tower is the optional GM one.

That is not a optional one, all convertibles have them because of loss of rigidity from going top less! Optional on coupes yes.

Ah, well then I would see if the BMR one would work or as said try and tweak that intake tube to where the OEM brace will fit back on.

You have a convertible with extra juice than what came from the factory. I'd definitely replace the brace with something that will fit.

I've never owned a convertible but I once drove a brand new Audi convertible with the top down and was surprised by the cowl shake and squeaks. I'm know Camaro engineers reinforced the heck out of it but it's still a convertible. Need all the bracing you can get.
