Lag in Throttle response

Ok, so I experienced something weird the other day. Some people complain about the throttle response on their SS, but for me I figured out exactly how to apply throttle and when throttle kicks in, etc. So I was driving on a very hilly curvy road, many hairpin curves. Speed limit is about 10 mph, I was doing 25 going down hill, then I cut into the corner downshifted into 2nd, I have a 6M, and applied the throttle heavy, Really put my foot into it. And in that moment I had no response, Like I didn't' mash the throttle. It hesitated for 1 sec, but it was a huge pause, then it took off. I have yet to experience this hesitation before. If I was on a track i would have gotten passed it was so bad. And please bite me, if you say you shouldn't be going that fast in a 10. I want to talk about the car, not my driving. Any ideas, it was a very odd sensation.

We just got ours a few days ago (6spd SS, conv). I experienced the exact same thing on a slow speed twisty road. I was in track mode and kept traction control on.

I was in Track mode too, normally I drive in Sport mode. I'm sure it's ok, but it was weird.

If it's anything like the Mustang its because the throttle is controlled by electronics and not a cable anymore. Drive by wire, at least that is what caused the hesitation in the Mustang. Drove me crazy in my 07. I could never cut a good light like I could in my 04. I eventually had the car tuned and it took some of the lag away but not all of it

I had/have that same thing. Bought a throttle controller to combat it (they're advertised to "get rid of lag"). Long story short - they don't get rid of lag.

I don't see how this could ever be considered acceptable in a sports car. Coming from the motorcycle world, new ones have all sorts of traction control and DBW and have none of this lag.

You said traction and stability control were on correct? It was probably one of those nannies kicking in...try it with them both off next time.

Had this happen with a rental 1SS while running around in the hills in southern CA. Car was an A8 but I had it in sport and using the paddles. At really slow speeds in 2nd it would hesitate then take off. I figured out how to turn the traction and stability off and it went away. Guess it didn't like me hitting the fun pedal with the front tires turned. Issue was never there is the wheels were pointed straight and went away with while turning with everything turned off. Again this was the auto but.........

Acutely I didn't say, but yes they were on. That could be a possible explanation. I should go back to that hill and turn off the nannies. Don't get me wrong, I love my Camaro and 99% of the time it's a monster.

I drive and M6. Turn all nannies off, and it still happens.

+1
Be careful....many times the TC is saving you from yourself by cutting the throttle.

I have said this for the last 1 1/2 years now, this car does not drive like my ideal sports car, when this happens its at any time on my car, and at the track it does the opposite, when you let up it does not, was coming it to a turn let of to push the clutch in to down shift and car kept going faster till i hit the brakes, and no cruse was not on.

It kind of sounds like the computer cut timing due to a shift it thought would upset the car and or clutch.
