The common winter question
So this gets broughts up a lot and I've never really had a definite answer so I'm trying again:
Does rubbing alcohol damage your paint / clear coat? There are several videos out there showing a mix of water and rubbing alcohol acting as an instant defroster of wind shields but as you drive your car, that mixture will leak over onto the body. Does that actually damage your vehicle or is it worth keeping the solution for a quick defrosting? Also, I understand wiping the solution after spraying it might help but when its -25c and the spray starts freezing right you spray it, wiping isn't exactly useful or practical even when its not that cold. Any advice / help is greatly appreciated! |

Diluted alc/water (25/75%) is no problem....keep the area you are worried about waxed or sealed.....

Glen, the very person I was hoping would respond - thank you so much for your advice. I'll gladly try it out the next time.
