Good to know that it's working for you! I had to touch up the rear panel before I installed mud flaps for road rash and Dr. Color chip did the job. I have to drive on a road full of rocks everyday to work and I only drive 15 mph and I still had road rash!!! I'll be happy if my mudflaps prevent 90% of the rocks from hitting the rear.

I never thought I'd be able to say this about Wisconsin but the roads around me are really nice. Everything has been completely redone so it helps a lot.

I had the gaurds installed at the dealer before I picked up the car so I started clean. The real test will after the winter. The hood and nose is wrapped in Xpel.

You should be good with the Xpel. I'm lucky as I live in the South so it rarely gets cold and snows.

GM has already repainted mine once. That's the last time also. Factory splash guards will help but no solve the problem. My new paint is already chipped, but I'm not going to mess with it again. They are minor but still in the back of my mind.

That was a HUGE issue on my 2010SS. As soon as I got the 2016 I installed the factory mudflaps. i have been keeping a close eye on it and thankfully don't have any chips on the new car.

Hi laynlo15,

We are sorry for any inconveniences while having your Camaro repainted. We understand this repair is not expected early in your ownership and would be happy to assist if you decide you’d like to have your car looked at again.

Please do not hesitate to send us a private message if we can help in any way!

Does anyone make a clear kit for the area in front of the rear wheels? Yes there is some paint film there, but I've got all kinds of minor marks, and a few small chips above the film....which sucks since I only have 2,600 miles on my car and I've had it nearly a year lol.

I don't mind just buying film and cutting, but I'd rather have an exact template if possible.

I'll let you know, I asked my installer about the bottom part and he's going to get back to me.

My chip is an inch above the factory film

Awesome. Fingers crossed.

Kinda "funny" that although I don't have my front end clear bra installed yet (although I have it sitting in my garage) I have less marks on the front than that part of the car...actually the front still looks nearly pristine. I really gotta get that clear bra on there so it stays that way.

Rock guards a re a must and even more so if you go with stockier tires or a stance/ setup like the 1LE or ZL1.

Funny thing for me is that my ZL1 was seldom driven and always clean yet the Xpel had three nicks in it (hood, fender, gill). I drive the SS everywhere and its currently covered in salt but not a nick or scratch yet at double the mileage.

I assume side skirts help? I was planning on putting some on in the spring.
