Rejex New Paint
Hey guys!
I recently got my bumper replaced because of an incident. Alas I didn't realize that I shouldn't apply a sealant within 30 days after fresh painting and I did it. Here's my dilemma. Should I take it off or leave it on? Will the methods of taking off Rejex cause more harm than leaving it on would cause? I called Rejex and the person said he recommends leaving it on and once it comes off by itself it should finish curing? I just want to do the lease damage possible to the paint.

I would just wash it off with Dawn dishwashing detergent- reapply in 30 days.
A Dawn wash won't hurt...... |

I've read that dawn doesn't take off Rejex and/or would hurt the soft layer of paint?

I gave you my opinion after a detailing for 15 years and Using REJEX for three years..... it will take it off enough to where it will let the paint outgas. But then again, you called the rejex people, you do what they say too. Honestly this is a minor problem, you can do either one.

Don't overthink it , just a squirt in a bucket, make some suds, and just wipe it down gently, rinse and dry with soft towel. Don't scrub......

Just washed my car. I used dawn on the bumper only and can't tell if the rejex came off.
Does it look like it did? Pictures of other parts for comparison.

If in doubt, wipe with 25 pct alcohol, 75 pct water

I'd be more concerned with that hose that is laying against the side of your car!
I sure hope you didn't use the brush at the pay/spray you went to on your paint. From the pics of the bumper, where the water is just laying flat, shows that most, if not all of it was removed.

You're right; Hose was a bad call.
Just did an alcohol wipe and it should all be off now. Thank you guys for your help! Just so I understand, if I would have done nothing would the paint not be damaged from being sealed immediately? Would it have started flaking or anything? I know you guys said not to worry.

No the damage wouldn't occur right away. If paint is sealed before it completely cures/gasses out, what occurs is the finish will become very dull and won't match the rest of the car. Based upon how it looks in your pics, your fine. You only impeded the process for a short time, not long enough to cause any damage. I have always heard from the professional detailers I know that new paint should be given 90 days to cure, not 30.

Just rained and rain seems to be sticking everywhere?
