How do you wash your microfiber cloths?
I use Tide Free & Gentle with a cup full of Arm & Hammer washing powder laundry booster. It seems to remove even the toughest stuff like sealers and waxes. i have never tried the microfiber specific detergent. Has anyone tried it?
Do you separate your cloths to wash? Do you have a color code for towels?

I don't overthink it....wash on hot with tide detergent, dry in dryer, med heat, no dryer sheet. I've had the same 50 or so mf's for 5 years.

I wash all of my car care stuff separate on medium water temp with detergent only. No fabric softener.
I then air dry them on a drying rack. |

Hot water with Tide, put in dryer with no dryer sheet, works great.

Wash hot cold rinse with Purex free and clear and Griot's Garage Micro Fiber cleaner. I add 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar to the rinse because it's a natural fabric softener and then dry on low.

Bought a few of the specialized soaps over the years, finally just settled for Tide on hot, and dry them in the dryer, always Goodnuf for me.

I've tried a lot of different soaps, many of the store bought Free & Clear soaps, and several of the microfiber specific soaps.
The only thing I've found the microfiber specific soaps to do a better job of, is for removal of waxes/sealants on towels used for those specific applications. For everything else, Purex Free & Clear. I tried the Tide, All, Arm & Hammer, Clorox Green Works, and a couple others I can't recall. The Purex works as good as all of them, and actually better then some others. The best part is it only costs $4 for a bottle that does 50 full loads! Another thing you can do every 10 washes or so is add a little distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle, about a tablespoon for a full load, which will soften your towels without harming them like traditional fabric softeners will. Don't wash wheel towels with anything else, you don't want brake dust in your other towels. For drying them, I run them maybe 10-15 minutes on low heat, for plush towels. For thinner towels the air fluff cycle. Then allow them to air dry. Drying your towels completely in the dryer, even on low heat settings, over time will damage them. Here is a pic of a waffle weave towel used to clean doorjambs, and after washing in Purex. From a cost standpoint, it's the best value for quality I've found.

Whatever is in the house we wash the clothes with. Warm water, dry on low heat cycle.

Another thing that's just as important is how you store your towels, you don't want them laying around collecting dust or dirt. Pick up containers like these at Wal-Mart or one of the other chain stores.
Be sure your towels are completely dry before putting them inside, as you don't want mold to form. This way, your towels stay dust/dirt free until your ready to use them. You can also get smaller containers for a towel you keep in your car. No sense to clean a towel, then allow it to get dirty/dusty, then use it on your paint! Work clean!
