Battery back there also ads weight where you need it for track. Its a very heavy engine, some weight over the wheels isn’t horrible if youre not gonna spent the cash on a light one.

I actually just replaced the factory battery in my 2013 sierra last week, not bad for surviving ten years and nine Canadian winters!

2016 Silverado 4900 miles original battery. 2017 ZL1 11k miles original battery. 2020 Acadia 38k miles original battery. I'm waiting for all 3 to go within a week of each other. But I'll probably replace them all with OEM

Also, since we are on topic, is there a better replacement that exists out there than an H6? If there was something out there that still fits the stock location but isn't some specialty H6 or Group 48 part number it would make finding a lithium battery for these things a little easier considering sometimes these things are out of stock.
