The average price for new car sales is over $32k now. The Camaro SS can be had for just above that with some negotiating.
Also, no one is going to think you're rich driving around a 99 Camaro, and hardly anyone is going to know what a Z28 is or how to differentiate it from a V6 at this point. What's the average 99 Camaro going for these days? $3,000? |

Sounds like you work with a bunch of douche bags. No wonder you make more than them.

Not trying to brag about anything, but I do get alot of flack about it. Mainly because mostly everyone here is married with children, making less and can't afford a performance car. Also a fully loaded 2SS MSRP is alot higher than 31k.. My car at MSRP costs about 48 - 50k but I got it for 36k... so if anyone knew about the car then they may know its not exactly inexpensive. |

Yep! As nice as our Camaro is, it is no the most expensive car in the parking lot. A fully loaded SUV or pickup costs as much or more.

Nope. I park the closest to the entrance. I have a 09 335i, 16 2SS, 18 S4. My wife and I swap cars each week. People at work love my cars, some ride with me to get lunch sometimes.
Been working there for one and a half years, I guess I influenced some people buying new cars lol. CFO, 3 of my co-workers, few more in the other departments all got some nice cars.

Check the prices out on half the new trucks our there and you'll notice that they cost as much as or more than the SS. They just notice the car because they don't see many around town since they are not a high volume seller. Many people assume that cars they don't see often cost more and would probably be surprised that you could almost buy two SS's for the cost of a Denali SUV (I saw one stickered over 70k a few weeks ago when I went in for an oil change).

I park pretty far out in the lot, where all the ding-conscious other nicer cars park, but I'm hardly "hiding." Interestingly most of those other cars are the people I work with directly, I've got a couple good shots of the bunch of us - a couple WRXs, Focus ST, Focus RS, M3, and my SS. You can guess which is my favorite!

I'd say I agreed to disagree on the remote start (and accompanying automatic) since we have strong HVAC systems, but then, the highest it's gotten so far this year is 95, so... |

I remote start always before I leave whether it be the morning or heading home, it has gotten up to about 108 here. The car has black leather and its hell to sit inside without the A/C running for a couple of moments

There’s quite a few vehicles in the parking garage at work that are 2-5 times more expensive than mine. One of my co-workers owns two Vipers, both bought new, one of which is the highest end.

Someone told me that in DFW if you're making less than 1,000 HP, don't bother challenging anyone. Any truth to that?
