Help me lol. 2010 3.6L knocking.
So I've had a knocking for about 2 years now. I believe it is a spun connecting rod bearing. I also have a check engine light on with a code for a bad timing chain. I'm really lost on what to do. I need to find a new or used engine but I've had absolutely no luck. My budget is around $3700.

You can buy a short block from GM for around that price. Are you handy? Great learning experience!

If I remember correctly a short block is the block with the crank, rods, and Pistons installed. If the heads are not on the engine I highly recommend you let a professional do the work because if you don't get the cam timing right you will be right back where you started

Thanks guys I think I've found one 2995 with 3 year warranty. Not to bad I'm just going to have a shop drop it in. I have the knowledge but not the time.

Where did you find that? I got a junkyard engine with 50k miles on it for the same price but no warranty.
