Help me decide on what cam!
Okay, I've asked this before and I've come to a few choices that I seem to like.
1. SS3 GPI Cam 2. BTR Stage 4 3. Custom grind of 233/242 .629/.629 LSA:113+3 4. Custom Grind of 232/246 .646/.637 LSA:112 I'm looking for a choppy sound, along with as close to 500whp as possible. And something that plays well with 100-150 shot of nitrous. Which do you guys think would suit me best? Also in open to recommendations! And my biggest concern is the motor not blowing up, and if I have to sacrifice a few HP, so be it. This is a N/A build also. Leaning towards #1 or #2 mostly

I have a GPI SS2 VVT awaiting install. Great customer service and great results by others so far.

My brother runs the BTR Stage 3 on his Z06 with a 200 shot perfectly fine. Getting ready to swap over to BTR Stage 5 for his car. The LSA on the custom grinds are too low for me and the lifts are way high for those power ranges.

Why such a big cam? A small cammed LS3 will be a beat a those cams listed all day and every day on the street.

Enlighten me? I have been mainly looking for cars who push 500whp and ask the owners for their specs. I haven't gone into breaking the numbers down as much as I would like to. I'm not gonna lie some of the numbers I done understand what they mean yet and what the differences between smaller and larger cams are. All I know is the 4 cams I listed people seem to be rather happy with their rusults Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm just a shade tree with limited experience, but have found several really great threads on here explaining lobe separation angles, durations, lift and what these things really mean to you as the owner/driver. Hit that search button and read away!!
Good luck!

It's more than just duration numbers, what supporting mods?
There's a lot to be said about ramp rates and core material. |

Fast forward to 35 seconds If you are punching it stop sign to stop sign at legal speeds, then a smaller cam might be the way to go. |

You will gain power, and thus, you can therefore spec out a smaller, milder, more engine friendly Low Lash cam, providing you with equivalent same power, of a larger, more radical, and therefore less friendly, hydraulic cam. |
