DBA vs Girodisc

Will most likely be getting new front rotors over the winter. Haven't seen much with people comparing the DBA rings to the Girodiscs.. The giros are a bit more expensive than the DBA rings. Anyone have experience with both, or know the benefits or downsides to either?

They are both an order of magnitude better than the OEM ring.

You can’t go wrong with either. Get the one for the best price you can find.

Depends on your use case, but probably comes down to preference. Extremely happy with my Girodiscs but I have not ever tried the DBA set. Girodiscs are also made in the USA if that matters to you.

FWIW - a very large portion of folks I meet at the racetrack go for Girodisc if they switch from OEM.

No, GM only sells the rotors as a complete unit with the hats and hardware and mounted.

The DBA's are junk. Mine are cracked, unsafe to run at the track and need to be replaced. I mic'd them out at 34MM, which is barely worn. This is on a 1LE being tracked at COTA which is hard on brakes.

Pads used OEM and DCT 70.

Will be ordering Girodisc now and hope they fare better.

OEM are Brembo.. if you can find same size disc in Porsche vehicle, porsche sells.. oddly enough just the rotor section for many cars and many service parts that GM does not.. like caliper cross over tubes.

Does DBA offer a blank option? It seems like a bad idea to remove any material from the rotor for slots, holes, etc. on such a heavy car.

Does the DBA set have directional vanes or their "kangaroo paw" vaning?
