not everyone gets access to the option. Google basically sends a special push to the application based on your account with them using whatever magical formula they have setup on these types of stepped releases.
If they haven't chosen your account, you wont see the option even if you have the same version and all. Like I said, my wife and I have the same phone, same OS, same cell provider. she got the option, I didn't. There's all kinds of "tips" on how to force the option, but like everything in cell phones, it's 99% bull. |

Nope guess they don't find me special enough to have the option yet.

Try checking for this setting while NOT connected to USB in the car. Force Stop the AA phone app, clear the app cache, restart the app, and check Settings within the app again. If it's there, toggle it on and THEN connect to USB in the car. If it's not there, it hasn't been pushed to you yet--but it will be soon, so keep trying.
The new version will only show up on Infotainment screen, not in the phone app. As I hear it, the phone app version of Android Auto will be going away, in favor of a new Google Assistant driving mode. My preference would be to replicate the Infotainment experience in the AA phone app, but I don't get a vote...

I imagine that, by now, the new Android Auto is available for everyone to try. I'm completely sold. In my opinion, it's dramatically better than the previous version! I've been using it for several weeks now and it's rock-solid.
Curious how others are experiencing it...

Hmmm...doesn't seem right. Did you check the settings page in the phone app?

Looks like the new Android Auto is no longer optional. The settings option to select the older interface is no longer present in my app.
Not a big deal for me (I really like the new interface), but wondering how other Android Auto users are faring... Thoughts?

I just ordered a 2SS 1LE and I know you can connect two phones to it. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this setup. I have to carry two phones, one for work, one personal, but I was thinking I could have the best of both worlds. Have my work phone plugged in for AA to have Nav/Waze/etc. and the personal phone connected via BT for my music.
Anyone have any experience with that? |

That's going to be interesting because you will get a pause whenever the blue tooth audio from one device overrides the other ...they dont (not in any device i've seen) mix the audio together seamlessly.
- It would make the most sense to have AA running on whatever device is going to be doing the most frequent audio output.... and have the other device only interrupt periodically. |
