16 SS 8" Head unit back light bleed?

So I all of a sudden noticed some major backlight bleeding behind my 8" head unit, it's very noticeable, just started. It looks like on the left and right there are vents or something that the light is coming through - has this happened to anyone else?

It's not light bleed, it's part of the ambient lighting in the car. The thought behind these particular lights is reducing eye strain at night. When a screen like this has a light source behind it, your eyes don't strain as much when looking at it.

I've never noticed it, so your car does it as well? I already put a thin strip of gorilla tape over it, I didn't like it at all when I noticed it.

Worked great, it just stops the bleed. I did something similar with that small overhead light

You are right, I meant the 8" displays. The 7" ones didn't get the light ring around the top of the screen either.

Looks like a defect/poorly design since its not same color as ambient light strips.

Absolutely not, it's a very nice and subtle touch IMO that matches the discreet extra ambient lighting behind the door handles as well as the default white footwell lighting. The ambient lighting (especially when coupled with the footwell lighting kit) is an additional touch for spicing all this up with a little extra color bliss.

Heck, I could write marketing materials for Chevy and I bet many wouldn't even notice against the sea of JD Power gunk, heh.

No such thing as footwell lighting on ZLE that I can see. I think Ford did it better. RGB everywhere, including footwells w/o having to hack-on $200 of $20 bits.

Perhaps its annoying due to CF dash panel. What a waste of $500 !
