Carbon fiber wrap for hood scoop
Has anyone did the carbon fiber wrap on the non carbon fiber hood scope, not sure if I should buy one off eBay for like 800 or wrap it.

Honestly I would just keep the painted one you got. It looks great on there and matches all the mosaic black accent pieces.

FYI...you already have a carbon fiber hood insert. It’s just painted.

If its already there, why does Chevy charge more not to paint it?

They probably incur more quality issues trying to provide a perfect looking exposed carbon insert than painting them. Any carbon defect can be painted over, but exposed inserts would need to be flawless. Those would be my only thoughts on the cost.

That and I would assume its much harder to polish resin or whatever the exposed finish is on the exposed ones. Paint is super easy to polish in comparison.

I plan on doing the same thing. 95% of the people looking at the wrap wouldn't know the difference. And if you don't like it, you can peal the wrap right off and not harm the original painted surface. Oh, and a heck of a lot cheaper to wrap.
