Zl1 or ZLE for daily driver

Looking for others opinion on the matter of if a ZLE can be daily driven. It seems to be 50/50 that some people say it isn’t bad at all and a bit exaggerated how rough it is.

Then on the other hand I hear it’s terrible and you feel every little bump.

If you were to buy a daily driver which route would you go?

I live in SC so weather is pretty calm throughout the year.

Do a search, this has been asked and debated at least a dozen or more times already.

Are you planning to track the car?

My advice is don't spend the extra $7500 for the "Extreme Track Performance Package" if you're not going to use it for its intended purpose.

Yup, do a search (using a proper browser search engine like duckduckgo and type "zl1 1le daily site:camaro6.com") and you'll have all the info you need.

I will say that even if you're okay with the DSSV suspension, the ZL1 1LE tires aren't exactly made for daily driving even in South Carolina, they'll probably try to kill you in the cold and wet, pick up every single rock from the road, and if you only drive it on new/flawless roads when the sun is out and temps are north of 70, that isn't really a daily driver, is it.

You'd be a glutton for punishment if you were to daily a 1le in Michigan....

If I was in love with the looks, I'd buy a regular ZL1 and clone the appearance pieces. But I obviously don't like the look because I bought a convertible ZL1.

The choice is up to you Gas. You can change tires for a street tire but they are limited to the 19 inch wheel size or just buy a ZL1 and enjoy the drive. If it was me I would get the regular ZL1 though and save money because I never plan to track my ZL1 either. Good luck!

If you gotta ask, the ZLE is probably not for you.

The ZL1 will meet 99% of your needs and you can just mod it to look like a ZLE.

A ZLE is NOT engineered to be a daily driver. If your asking this question here just go with a ZL1.

Plenty of discussions about this topic and it has been beaten to death several times in the past. A simple search would bring those discussions.

I have a 2022 GMC Denali 2500HD crew for my daily driver. I would consider the ride to be similar between it and my ZLE. I wanted the ZLE, so that’s what I bought, but I don’t like cars for daily drivers. Your decision may be made for you, based on what car you can find.

The ZLE being a daily car is dependent on the road quality and your tolerance. I love to feel everything on the road so the fixed suspension is perfect for me. I personally don't like the magnetic ride as it just feels weird to me, so the regular ZL1 is out. If I could get the aero of the 1Le package on the regular ZL1, I'd still buy the ZLE with the DSSV suspension.

Not many can tolerate the ride of a ZLE as a daily driver. I'm one of the few.
