Many, many non-geriatric folks like heated seats in 50-60 degree morning weather when leaving the house. Unless you were just trolling us with the last sentence.

This is incorrect.

The tires are not to be used under 20. They are not recommended under 40, but if you know a thing or two about air temp vs. ground temp, radiation and heat, then you realize that there are a lot of situations where you can drive the car between 20 degrees and however hot you want to get. With raynauds, all of my cars have heated steering wheels and will for every new car I get. It doesn't have to be super-cold to super-chill my hands. Similar with heated seat, if you do outdoors stuff, you might be cold sometimes afterwards, but heated seat makes a huge difference. I find both of these heat up quite a bit faster than in other cars with the same feature. And then you can throw on some other tires.

One of our autoX it was something like 28 degrees at the start, I think that was either the last or the first one of the year. I remember we couldn't see because there was also fog. But luckily it warmed up with the sun out and the ground temp probably went to 60 then.

Anyways, the way I see it, the 2SS 1LE is like the ZL1, minus the supercharger. It's a great GT that can hang just fine at the track.

Ive owed a 1SS and 2SS and was not overall that impressed with the 2SS for the extra cost.

The heated steering wheel, heated seats and blind spot alert side mirrors were the best features of the 2SS imo. The heads up display is pretty cool but definitely not a necessity. The Bose stereo was very underwhelming as were the leather seats. I hardly used or cared about the extra crap like the ventilated seats(felt like I was wetting myself) and ambient interior lighting(cheesy), wireless charging(horrible location and didn't fit my iPhone). This is all subjective of course. What one man's trash is another's treasure

If I were buy again another camaro ss it would be the 1SS.

I will say driving the camaro around without the blind spot monitoring can get nerve-racking at times and the main thing I'd miss from the 2SS. There are other solutions to deal with blind spots if even a big issue for you. Given you're coming from already owning a camaro you're used to the Camaro's visibility.

Something tells me if you're buying a 1LE your are getting it more for the performance and not the creature comforts.

1SS for me. The add-ons you get with the 2SS just weren't worth what they cost, in my opinion.

2SS I what I bought. I had my choice in early 21 so that had nothing to do with it.
I have big feet so I really like the seat memory function as well as the cooled seats.
Like I said I have big feet, cooled seats.

Just for classicrockr's information, "cooled" seats in the Camaro are actually ventilated, not cooled, and the seat cooler fans aren't exactly powerhouses, they work best when combined with A/C directed downwards and temperatures under 85-90°. I love them nevertheless, but expectations need some management, especially when people come from A/C seats

I have average feet and saw little to no use for the seat memory function. The seat was pretty much all the way back.

Everybody’s different, but the ventilated seats are nothing to write home about (just MHO). Heated seats, I’d rather have them than not.

I will add that all this seat talk does allow me to admit that having ventilated seats in the 1LE would be great even in 1SS trim. Anyone who’s spent time sitting in grid in July/August (and really even when on the track) knows how hot it gets - and no one likes swampa$$.

That said, I had a 91 1LE and nothing has been as miserable on track as that with regard to driver [dis]comfort.

All Recaros have the fans, but only the 2SS has controls. Check out Gen5DIY for a quick/easy harness and get you some ventilation for your undercarriage.

I'm only 37...

You can drive on summer tires in cold weather, give them time to heat up, and recognize you'll have less grip overall. It only gets tricky when you combine the cold with wet conditions.

I have a 22 1SS 1LE and at 6'3 and 235 I find the Recaros snug and comfy. The extra floof and weight in the 2SS plus additional cost made my mind up so I got the 1SS.

1SS
I don't think the 2SS 1LE was even available when I got mine in March 2018.

Some of the 1LE and 2SS options overlap, so you are sort of paying twice for things like HUD, leather seats, MRC, etc.
