Plastic Bushings?
One of the key suspension improvements of an SS (or LT 1LE) is the metal bushings it comes with. I have often heard the bushings that come with non 1LE LT models are made of "plastic". Plastic is not typically used for suspension bushings, they are either rubber, polyurethane, or metal. Are people referring to the bushings as plastic when they are really made of polyurethane?

I'm pretty sure they are rubber. If not rubber then maybe a few sealed spherical ball (metal) "rose joints" that is common on many joints of the SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE.

Well, polyurethane is a plastic.
I've seen bushings listed as "rubber, plastic, and metal" in order of increasing firmness. The "rubber" used for these parts varies in composition, but is also technically a plastic. https://www.thomasnet.com/articles/p...-butyl-rubber/ |
