Tall Drivers Chime In...

Looking for feedback from the tall guys on here (over 6'4) that drive the coupe ZL1/ZLE. I'm looking to trade my practically new 2019 SS Vert in for a factory order ZLE (which my dealer says they can make happen but it will be next year delivery at some point) but i'm a little concerned with head room. No issues with the vert as I mainly drive with the top down but I'm not too sure about the couple and the recaro's as to the room I will get/may give up. I'm 6'5" with longer legs and athletic build so no issues currently in the vert.

Thank you in advance.

I’m not tall at around 5’11 and barely have any head room with the seat all the way down. One of the only annoying things about the car for me is when my hair gets a little long it brushes the roof. I also have a sunroof though. Definitely see if you can get in one at dealer etc to check for yourself.

I’m only 6’ 1”, but have no problems in the ZLE. Since there are no sunroof’s in the ZLE, that helps over cars with a sunroof.

Have you had a helmet on in your ZLE? I had to recline the seat more than I liked to not rub on the roof with my helmet.

Dont get the moonroof. Im 6' and my head just touches the headliner with the lower interior from the moonroof. My 18 ZL1 had no moonroof and I had easily 3 more inches of headroom.

6'2" in ZL1, have a full vertical fist of head room available. With helmet on I still have about 2 fingers over helmet. No issues with height, had more issues with headrest and helmet compatibility w/o moving it down.

FYI, no sunroof

I am 6’6” and 245. The seat is all the way down, reclined, and back. My head does not hit the roof. Pry no room for a helmet, but i havent tried yet. If i am cruisin on a long trip i will pull my ass away from the back and slouch a bit. I am comfortable enough in it, but wouldnt wanna drive it everyday. No moonroof.

6’3 plenty of head room, I’d imagine a helmet would make it pretty tight. I keep my seat all the way down and fairly far back

No, I have not tried it with a helmet.

Sunroof is not available on a ZLE, so don’t worry about that.

6'6" here and more legs than torso. Stay away from the sunroof cars. Test drive one and bring your helmet if you are concerned about fitment. Any non sunroof car will work. I test drove a 1SS 1LE but ended up in a ZL1.

6'5" 230 athletic biuld and zero issues, that with the seat all the way and non reclined back. For me the tilt feature is also important for clearing the wheel with my thighs when turning L&R. I don't track mine( it's an SS1LE) but can see where a helmet would include a heavy dose of recline to not scrub the roof.

Nope, I know, had one. Just curious as I had to recline a bit more than liked to not hit the roof in my 19 ZLE. Surprised others in the thread haven’t had the issue.

6’6”, 270 and equal legs and torso. I have a sunroof and no problems but have worn a helmet and it SUCKS! It probably wouldn’t be as bad with a helmet and NO sunroof. You’re best bet is to find a Camaro in ANY trim with and without a sunroof and see which works best.

6'4", 250lbs. I do not have a sunroof.

I have room with the seat lowered for my helmet. If you never wear a helmet, you'll be very comfy even if you don't lower the seat all the way.
