Update. Previous combo was xport, headers, 103 throttle body, roto fab, 2.3” upper pulley. 93 octane fuel.

Added jms boost a pump, flex sensor, and back to stock upper pulley size. KingLT1 did the tuning, including the trans. Runs on E50 in warm weather. Running E38 here at 50F.

Thanks King!

Your new updated setup is very intriguing.

What are your thoughts on using this setup for road racing?

I was initially concerned that doing something like this would be too much power for the track, but based on your comments, the X-porting doesn't hit as hard down low and instead it pulls all the way to redline. This seems ideal for the road course.

My plan was to do a similar build as yours; stock pulley, roto-fab, headers and E85 and then do the ported supercharger. I thought I wouldn't need to do the X-porting based on this, but might be right choice if I plan on tracking the car.

Tay, leave stock unless you want to have fun in mexico or just you to mod for fun. You will be slower at the track (more power= more wheel spin!). the z is a beast stock on its on power. regardless, those mods are safe for tracking

I know you're probably right. I figured having too much power would make you slower.

But when I read that comment about the X-porting giving up a little down low and improving top end on JasonD's setup I got excited. I thought that might negate the issue of having too much power when it comes to tracking.

What lol? Slower at the track? Yes maybe on stock tires.

I don’t know anyone running stock tires on a modded ZL1 at the track.

Hell just stock guys at the track here have a drag pack.

He’s talking road course tracking.

I’ve never been on a road course, so I can’t speak to that. With the x port, it’s making less boost than stock under 5k rpm, then really ramps up to redline.

Does it feel faster than stock below 5k rpm? Or does it actually feel slower or equal below 5k?

I don’t remember what stock feels like, but pretty sure it makes more power everywhere. Don’t remember ever thinking it lost power anywhere.

Just for an example of what you can do with a couple more mods if you choose to in the future along with King tweaking in the tune.

Mods on top of what you have now. Still on 20’s. 5’s most likely with a drag pack.

-XDI +30 injectors
-LPE HPFP
-2.175 upper
-E60 Fuel
-MPI Blower Lid “Not sure if it helps actual power”
