Range device ??

Hey guys. Just got my range device for my 22 lt1. Kind of notice a delays in throttle response and maybe power? Not sure if I’m tripping or if snybody who has one has experienced the same stuff? Car feels like it runs stronger without it plugged in. Thanks for any input

Used One on my 2019 ZO6 worked great , did what it was supposed to do . Still have it (it's the updated version purchase in Feb 22) if any you LT1 guys interested pass on at 1/2 price PM me.
Ox11888, nice job deactivating the DFM AFM it can harm the engine lifters flatten the cam , damage the Torque Converter and Transmission

Was my first reaction reading this post too.

I had to go look it up. It’s a device that plugs into the OBD2 connector; here was the description I found:
“ The Range AFM/DFM Disabler allows your V6 or V8 GM vehicle to run in full cylinder mode at all times, preventing the Active and Dynamic Fuel Management systems from dropping cylinders.” https://www.rangetechnology.com/prod...-dfm_disabler/

Never heard of this before. Along with the original poster’s question, what are other peoples experiences with these.?

I've had one in my 2017 Corvette Grand Sport for 5 years. Works as advertised with no issues.

If you have emission testing where you live, you do need to remove the device for several drive cycles before getting tested. Otherwise, it will show a not ready code or some such on their testing equipment.

I recently got one for my 21' 2SS... I notice zero difference with it on or off in regards to throttle performance or anything like that.

I do notice it tends to pop/crackle a lot more with my NPP exhaust, though. Perhaps because it's never going into 4-cylinder mode. Not a bad side effect!

Had one in a 5th gen for about 4 years, worked well. Do not feel the need for one on my 6th gen, can't hear or feel when it is in 4cyl mode like I could on the 5th gen.

this right here

its more about decreasing your chances of losing a cylinder as the miles rack up

I use one on my 2012 Silverado. Absolutely love it. i was having some oil issues with it so i purchased it and oil pressures and everything have cleared up since i started using this.

I dont know if i will get one for my 231LE or not. If there is a tune instead that still holds warranty i think i would go that route but if not then i might look into one for the car.
