Hoping to find owner of my previous 6th gen

I’d love to spot my last 6th gen, and its new owner on line. Whoever they are, they got a mint, babied and garaged 2017 1SS A8, with NPP, GM paint matched rock guards, and a 3M Pro clear bra on the nose, mirrors, and whole lower half of each side to the back wheels. It had less than 5K miles, when I sold it to Vroom in May of 2021. I was paid $1000 MORE than I bought it for in June of 2017, new!
I wanted an M6 2SS, and was looking for something special. I ended up purchasing a 2018 2SS M6 Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition with just under 1500 miles. I’m never letting this one go.

I’m just hoping to spot my old car, so I can inform the owner that they got a steal, if they paid a reasonable price for it. It was seriously treated like no other. It had the proper transmission flush, as well, and it had been shifting smoothly, with no sign of the shutter for a couple thousand miles after, as well. I’ll keep hoping to spot it in here, or on my other Camaro groups!

Whenever I see an NGM sixth gen on the road, I eyeball it for missing badges to see if is my old 2016 that I sold to CarMax last year. Haven't spotted it out there yet...

I hear ya! I keep an eye out for mine as well. It would just be cool, to see where it landed. I saw it listed on Vroom, and then that it was a pending sale, and then it was gone. lol

I do the same for my 50th SS 'vert I sold several years back.

It'll be easy to spot. Custom badges, removed the stupid matte decals...

I know the buyer came from the midwest to CT to pick it up and drive it home

There’s no telling where your 2017 is and who is the owner. I myself wouldn’t worry about it’s location or owner and enjoy the one you upgraded to because the person that bought it may not care where it came from or be a gear head like most of us are on this forum. I would have liked to talk to the original owner of my ZL1 but could never get any info on him but that he had to sell because his wife was going to have a baby and the ZL1 had to go.

Yea they told me an older gentleman came and traded my Z in for a Tahoe. I kind of laughed.. sounded like a made up story. I wonder too about my LT1 but Greg is right. The ratio of actual owners to forum members is not high. For most people I think the v8 sports car phase ends up being more of a fad for them

Nice! Yeah, it would just be cool to see where they ended up, especially if you had some love for your ride.

True. Because I’m a car nut, I can’t believe someone that owns a car like these, wouldn’t be on the forum, or a Facebook 6th gen group, but we are a small portion of the overall owner’s list. My post is only relevant, if a car enthusiast purchased it, then they may be curious of its history, problems, services, and its treatment in general. I’d love to fill them in, but it’s a shot in the dark. Lol

I doubt that you would be able to find it. Several years ago I tried to do the same after replacing my track '11 Mustang GT that I modified completely. I contacted the dealer were I traded it with the intention of buying it back, but the dealer explained that he could not share me that confidential information of the new buyer. But on other hand it was surprising that someone found me on a Camaro forum as a prior owner of my 5th gen Camaro ZL1 just because of the particular stripes that I added to that car.

I’ve has bunch of cars that I sold in mint condition and low miles. Apparently my brother saw my 87 GTA a couple weeks ago (special paint job).

I spotted my 2019 ZL1 convertible residing a mere 3 blocks from my home (a little over a mile away). I was pretty surprised when I saw it on a short bike ride!

I’ve owned 22 cars in my lifetime. Only once have I seen a car I owned, after, in someone else’s hands. It was my 1998 Z28. I traded it in, in 2002, and ran into it a few months later, at the same dealership I traded it in at. It had been purchased, and was back there for service. In just a few short months, it’s condition was not good. It was still cool to run back into it, but man, that car deserved better. Lol

With the right software, its as easy as a VIN search. My H2 and my 2016 Camaro both ended up in Houston area.
