Lt2 manifold dragy times

So I got all the parts to put the lt2 manifold in and got it installed this eve. I actually used some 10” high leverage knipex cutters to trim the underneath plastic. Worked better than the burr bit IMO. Installed brake booster fitting with a good amount of thread tape. Ict map extension you really had to use some pressure to get clipped. Trimmed the sound deadener underneath the manifold to fit and re installed the stock throttle body. There was already oil in the intake. Car only has 650 miles on it. So I installed the might mouse can also. Slight pita to install but it went on eventually after trying to fight me. Went out to Mexico afterwards to see if I could notice a difference in performance. I was rewarded with a new best slip. I made 3 passes this one being the best. All similar tho. Air was -40da. Last time out was 120+da so pretty similar. The dragy is always off on da and elevation. Car just continues to impress me.

That’s cool man. Yea some people say it only takes an hour but it was around 4 hours to modify it and install and then put catch can on

yup. lt2 is legit. you could tell the torque difference as well. I also picked up 2mph in the 1/4mile.

I feel like the great times were achieved by mostly driver mod. 1.78s 60ft on street bridgestone tires? That is fantastic, better than many with drag tire times I've seen. Anyway, with a 60ft time like that, high 11s is expected even with stock intake manifold. The fact that 1/8th mile is a really quick mid 7 second also confirms rest of the way is pretty inline with bone stock Camaros. (Hopefully I'm not off here.)

Here you go, if you click on his name, and click on "see all posts by" you can read about his set up. Just takes a few clicks and a bit of reading.

Yes if you can get the hard tires to hook they will go a little quicker than drag radials. I run 25psi in them also where drag radial usually around 16-18psi. The 11.78 was with the stock manifold. K&n and shroud delete.

Run the car in a more realistic higher DA at a drag strip a few times and show the time slip. a 11.78 with a 1.78 60 ft on shit tires is much quicker the a bone stock automatic SS or LT1 with a LT2 intake and no other mods in my opinion.

It’s actually a good tire. Has worked well for me. Very expensive though. The DA is the DA. I cant get to the track much so I go out after the fam is asleep and Mexico is open. Only time I did my first pass was an 11.99 time slip and the dragy read a 12.01. That was stock in touring mode. I didn’t figure out sport mode til after. I’m pretty good at getting the best out of cars. I’ve been doing this a while now
