Rev Match 2SS M6

I've had my 2SS 1LE since August and I just want to know if I'm crazy or if there is something to this. It seems like when I drive with Rev Match on I have to fill up more often than when I'm manually Rev matching myself. When I first got the car I always drove with Rev Match on because I'm coming from a 1LT M6 where auto Rev Match isn't a feature. But then I decided to drive for a few weeks with Rev Match off, going back to manually Rev matching. I recently went back to driving with auto Rev Match turned off because of the convenience and feel like I'm filling up more again, but I don't know if it's just in my head. Does driving with Rev Match turned on cost you fuel economy?

well rev match does hold the rpm up a little more after you change gears so you don't get as much engine brake effect. lol. smiles per gallon..

All in your head there’s no way at all that actually happened.

Do some proper A/B testing, the human mind can be wonderfully (and scaringly) deceptive.

Did a quick search on YouTube and came across this video. This guy seems to agree with me. If you don't want to watch the full video go to the 10:00 mark.

I noticed it too. 22 2ss 1le manual. The MPG does drop with rev match due to excessive high rpms during downshifting, especially if you love to shift alot. For example if you are slow enough, you can go down from 4th or 5th to 2nd, however, if you go incrementally by each gear at a time with the rev match then you get a bigger hit with the fuel consumption.

On my end, mpg hit doesn’t bother me and i love the back fires during downshifts. I love doing rev matches manually as well. It puts a huge smile on my face every time. This is not rev match related however, i have driven manuals my whole life, my advice is not to rest your hand on the shift knob, when you are at a stop light or a long stops, always put the car on neutral, foot off the clutch pedal and hands off the shift knob, finally always make sure the clutch pedal is fully engaged before every shift. Some people leave their clutches engaged during long stops and rest their hands on the shift knobs which is not good for the drivetrain.
