Mine has been built since 5/25... at least that's when the mychevrolet.com says the warranty starts. Still in New Boston lot at 4B00... I assume I won't see this until 7/25 or so. On a side note, how do I convince them to have my warranty start when I get it? Is that a thing?

Warranty does not start until the day and mileage of when you officially purchase the vehicle

Since you're in So Cal, I wonder if our cars will end up on the same shipment...

My dealer sent me over a email he has from the freight company. It wasn't really informational, it literally said that and had a attached image of a map where it was supposed to be. But it was just a general screen shot of the north east US. So i assume its chilling near lansing

I seriously doubt that. The warranty doesnt start until the official day you take ownership. You currently dont own the vehicle yet

Finally picked mine up Friday the 17th. It was built April 11th. Delivered to the dealer June 15th. Financed in April to take advantage of interest rates. Made two payments before delivery. It sucked, but at least it's over with.

Latest update from my salesman is that there is no update. I was at his desk while he was chatting with Chevy online, they told him to give me some BS excuse about safety and quality inspection, which my salesman said is false. Then they proceeded to tell him that Jack Cooper no longer transports for Chevy but wouldn’t give him the name of the new carrier. Almost sounded like they have no way of shipping cars right now. I’m about ready to just go buy a used one so I have something to drive for the summer.

It's beyond maddening for sure!

Maybe we're parked together lol. Mine is in the same railyard. My dealer gave me a 7/16 ETA... My car has been there since early June so I doubt I'll see it before August.

I wish GM would let me buy the car and send my own shipping company to get it. Verify the VIN and driver ID, have a GM porter take them to it, then let me get my car delivered to me on my own dime.

So this is a possibility?

I want to jump on the 1.9 for 60 that expires in July but my salesman seems a bit apprehensive/unsure if he can do it. (Delivery was originally 6/26 now 7/16) I get that it's a bit shady but I'd rather lock in 1.9% and pay now rather than 3%+ later. Did you ask for a clause in the contract in case it arrived damaged or just risk it all?

It was for me. My dealer financed me through GM Financial. They said that they have done that a few times since the interest rates were going up. They said that if I waited for the car to arrive that the best they could do was lock in my rate for 30 days from the day of approval. I didn't want to lose the 0% at the time so I went ahead and financed it. They didn't make me pay the down payment until delivery. I asked about what would happen if it was delivered damaged and they said that I could back out if that was the case. Luckily it didn't come to that.
