You act like this is brand new info and people have been telling you the same thing for almost two months now. What makes you hearing it this time any different than the last 10 times?

also, if he switched to the turbo 4, he will have less horsepower than a v6 Charger or Challenger, and maybe even a Mustang V6, for a comparable price. I've given up trying to figure him out though.

Nothing to figure out. It "is what it is". I wont switch to a turbo-4. It just sounded like a good idea due to the V6 fiasco. Charger? 4-door grocery getter. Fail. Mopar in general? Nah. Id buy a hot hatch or something used before a Mopar. Mustang? Not for me. Its OK, Ill stop posting here. At this rate Ill never have a 6th gen Camaro anyways so theres nothing to talk about. Kind of funny if ya think about it.

If you've been on this forum long enough, you will easily tell that many of us have been waiting a long time for cars. It's the nature of our current situation. These are your final years to get the 6th gen (and probably ICE) Camaro. It's worth all the wait for me knowing I'm getting what I want in the end.

If it makes you feel better you can search inventory across multiple Chevy dealers and find a camaro close to your spec. I have found a rapid blue that’s my spec but it’s in North Carolina also I have a trade in too. Sooo it makes me think if it worth it going thru all of this to get the car or wait but that’s my suggestion if you looking for a v6.

Been waiting since February. Your post is exactly the reason I'm waiting...current situation, final years to get one, getting it built as I wanted. I could have easily bailed on this car and gotten something different as family and friends have told me to do. It's worth the wait for me to get this car (and hopefully we are nearing the end of our wait). In the end everyone has to do what is best for them, and if I have to wait to get the car I want then I will wait.

Wow. Since February? Geezus. Im just not a die-hard Bowtie Guy or Gal like some of you are. Im sure thats part of the problem. I have a wide range of cars Ive owned and liked over the years. No serious brand loyalty here. . I like 'em all. Just never ordered a car and a Camaro is the kind of car I ought to be able to go and snag locally in any config/color I want, right off the lot. Best of luck with your car. I hope you get it soon.

Thanks and I hope you get yours moving along soon too! You can see by my signature that I sat a long time at 1100. My original dealership never could get me the allocation they said they could so that wasted a lot of time. I then changed dealerships and ordered from Joe (and from a '21 to '22) and had to wait at 1100 due to the plant being shutdown. The car is finally built as of 10/20 (YAY!) so I should be seeing it fairly soon. I'm more stubborn then brand loyal, this will actually be my first Chevrolet since 1981, but I do love the F-body cars and wanted to own one again before they were gone.

Joe does seem like a good resource to get a car through but there are logistical issues with buying a car out of state that I just dont know if I want to deal with. He's got plenty ordered already Im sure anyways. . The other obvious problem is that the V6 is on this constraint thing and it aint looking good. Then, it also "appears" that high-end trim model cars with V8's get built a lot faster than the lower trims. Thats great for those that ordered such cars but not for the rest of us. Its clear this forum is big-time V8 centric. Thats cool.

Yeah, mine has to get moving at some point or Ill be forced to invoke plan B. I must have the(or a) car in hand by early spring. Not wasting any of our short NYS driving season on waiting. As cool as a 6th gen Camaro is, I cant deal with too much mucking about as if Im trying to order a special edition Ferrari or something. Its a Chevy....cmon now! .

Im sure you'll love your car.

I just got my vin on Thursday, feels good! How are you getting any info after that? As far as checking transport Info and that the car is switching spots?! GM said mine was simply waiting for transport so hopefully that also means I’m not build shy! Didn’t think of that..

There is another thread in this subforum for cars that were showing status 4B00 (four bee zero zero), for a long time - the status is defined as "Bayed" and really means "parked at the plant". The cars in that scenario were the true "built shy" vehicles, and I don't know that GM is doing that with the 2022s like they did with the end of the 2021 MY. In that thread, one of the users created a tool that can look up your VIN in the Jack Cooper Transit info.

JCT is the trucking company that moves the cars from the factory - so if you're close enough to Lansing and your car is only going by truck, this should show you the status all the way to the dealership. If your car needs to go by train, it will only show you up until it's dropped off at the railyard, and after that I don't know of any tools we can access ourselves - you'll have to rely on your dealer's tracking info from then on.

Interpreting the data given by the tool isn't as clearly spelled out as the GM status code info in the various stickied threads here, but read through the bayed thread for some info on how to interpret it. Post #104 in particular shows the status progression info, but reading through the rest of it will give you some good insight.

You and I are both in Picked status currently, which I believe means that the car has been grouped with other cars for a particular truck load, but not yet assigned to a specific truck (which would be "Paired").

Wow, awesome! I really appreciate you going out of your way to check that out for me. Unfortunately my car is coming to NJ so I guess I’ll see only up until the rail yard, but better than nothing for sure! Is there a way to get an exact build date or are you just going off of the day you were given 3800 status?

I believe the system Joe is checking only shows the status as of the end of the day before, and I was checking daily at that point - so I'm guessing that my build completion date is 10/19 since he reported the 3800 status on 10/20.
