Front Plate Mount

Anyone have pics of ideas for mounting the front license plate on my '22 SS? I live in Maryland where a front plate is required. Thanks!

I've used the "Sho'n'Sto" on my 2016 and 2021 RS's and have been happy with it.

I used the factory one that was in my trunk, held on with clips, so it can be removed for track and put back on for street. Quick and simple as GM intended. It does not screw into anything.
Takes a minute to remove/put on. Not sure if SS is the same as SS 1LE for plate mount?

+1 for the Sto'n'Sho, it's a great solution that is easy to install, looks good and allows for quick removal by unclipping and pulling out the front part. It even serves as a makeshift "scrape detector", heh.

I opted to not pay money for other options. I ran w/o a front plate for years and had flashing lights in my mirror as it's enforced in my area and it just wasnt worth playing around it any more or inviting the man in to my life so I stuck it on and live with it. The tow hook option though I think is the best option out there.

This seems to me to be the real question - I'm going to tell my dealer not to drill anything no matter what (along with all the other things like don't wash, don't put dealer logos on, etc).

That being said, I ran two different BMWs for a total of 7 years without front plates where I live, and never got a ticket for them (even with the tiny town of hard-ass cops that like to ticket everybody AND pulled me over for speeding without citing me for the plate). Thinking I used up all my luck and should be prepared with the car I'm most likely to get speeding tickets in

Was thinking of going with a tow hook mount for mine, but still looking at what's out there and available. The clip on one, if it works on a non-1LE SS would be a good fall back option for me.

Yes, no drilling, but it was in the trunk of the car when I bought it, it is a factory GM part. No drilling whatsoever.

Did you not get a mount with the car?

Car's still on order and at least 6 weeks away from my garage, I'm just planning what I want to buy.

Gotcha!!! Good luck! I expect you will get the same mount I did, unless Chevy changed something.

I got the OEM mount with the car but I think I am gonna leave it off (unless I get stopped) like I have done on my other cars. Thanks for the replies!

You could always attach the plate to the mount and put the whole thing in your trunk, then play dumb if you get stopped and say it was laying on the ground when you came out to get into your car and you threw it in the trunk until you get 'figure out' how to reattach it.

(Disclaimer - this is not legal advice, more tongue in cheek but hey, it could work!)

True story, NY Troopers here can be sticklers about plates. Buddy, no front plate, got pulled over, used that excuse. Trooper did let him go....this time

2 weeks later, he gets pulled over second time, different trooper....used same story. Trooper came back a few minutes later and handed him a citation. System showed he was pulled over for same thing just two weeks later.
Next time would be worse.

Big $$$$ fine here too, going up with each consecutive offense, that is what made me decide to just go ahead and mount my plate, not worth it. (thanks NY!). Mount was in my trunk for 6 months before I put it on. LOL!
