Luckily one bottle of the Motul is unopened. I've had good luck with it, but maybe I'll try the Castrol next time around. Thanks for all the excellent advice.

I believe 2 bottles is just enough but 3 is probably safer especially if your current fluid hasn't darkened much.
Shop manual lists 0.86 L hydraulic brake system capacity for anyone who might find this thread in the future.

So you should have 140ml of wiggle room with two 500ml bottles but that is not much if the old fluid has not darkened enough to be distinguishable from the new fluid.

Thanks for the help. I'll add the 3rd bottle to my stash.

Is 15 psi OK on the pressure bleeder? I normally just keep filling the reservoir and pump this amount of pressure with an empty bleeder bottle.

Happy to help. Yes that's exactly what I do aiming for about 15psi with the Motive pressure bleeder and it works well. Just remember to depressurize from the Motive side before adding fluid to the master cylinder or some brake fluid droplets might spray around the engine bay. Droplets can be wiped up and washed away with some water (with the master cylinder cap on) if that happens so the droplets don't damage any painted surfaces.

Ok thanks again. Looking forward to finally getting this thing, so I'm just trying to plan ahead.

On my stock SS 1LE, I used RBF600 for a few years but had to flush it 2-3 times a year. On my current ZLE I use Castrol SRF and flush it annually with no issues. IMHO well worth the extra cost.

Got it, thanks - I'll give the Castrol a try next time around
