least expensive option to get a 2019 to have same front end appearance as 2016-2018

Hello!

I have a 2019 2.0 but i dont like the front bumper on it. The upper part of the front grille just has too much vertical length on it for my tastes. Looking at the SS i see that it has that black bar thingie in the front bumper with the Chevy 'bowtie' and it looks like the upper grille is not as tall but i still dont like it. Looking at the ZL1 front bumper and it looks pretty close to the 2016-2018 style front bumper. the middle part of the front bumper is thinner vertically and it sits up higher making the upper grille a bit narrower vertically. I also like the ZL1 rear spoiler so at least if i get the ZL1 front bumper then i can have the matching spoiler too.

So for the least expensive option is it better for me to get an aftermarket front bumper for a 2.0 that has the ZL1 style? or would it be cheaper for me to get the OEM ZL1 bumper from a dealership/online parts site? reason i'm asking is because for the OEM ZL1 i'm not sure what additional hardware/ducting i will need or what i can reuse. I'm looking at a GM online parts site and i see different shapes for some parts in the diagrams so i'm not sure if its just the pics or if they are actually different. Or if the 2.0 stuff is a different p/n but it can still be reused for the ZL1 front bumper.

After market would be cheaper as you would just need the bumper, OEM you would need the fenders and hood as well since the ZL1 is slightly wider and the hood has different body lines.

Yup thats what i figured too. If its made and advertised for a 2019 2.0 then it should fit with what the 2.0 has. With a OEM ZL1 i dont want to get the bumper only to find out i need this underbumper support, then find out i need that duct, then those other bolts etc etc.

Can you or anyone else recommend any aftermarket bumpers that are pretty stock-ish in appearance? as long as the front upper grille is as tall as the front upper grille in the 2016-2018 Camaro and the 2019-2020 ZL1. I started looking around but one place i found i think i heard that they dont reply to requests/emails so i'm not sure which places are trustworthy.

bump

So can anyone recommend any aftermarket front bumpers for 2019 2.0? like i mentioned before i'm looking for one that is stock-ish in appearance. I also want the front upper grille to not be as tall. I want the same appearance for the front upper grille that the 2016-2018 Camaros have and also the 2019-2020 ZL1.

Should i also expand my search to all 6G Camaro's when looking for front bumpers? or do SS/ZL1 or different years (within the same gen) have different mounting points or under-bumper hardware?

Your best bet would be the aftermarket ZL1 bumper for the 2019-2020. Someone has installed one. Bumper looked like the 16-18 but with the 2019 headlights. It looked pretty good, it was on a Riverside Blue car IIRC.

The mounting points i believe are the same. Just the headlight shape is different, therefore would also require the 16-18 headlight assembly or modifying the new bumper to accommodate the 19 lights. The riverside blue car that Dark Phoenix referenced did this. Would probably have to find the thread and pm the op for details on what he did.

I was afraid of having to modify the bumper or getting different headlights. Guess there's no avoiding it since i cant seem to find any 2019 2.0 specific aftermarket bumpers. I'm afraid of getting one for a different year/trim because it might not end up fitting due to differences in some of the underbumper support or venting.

Have you thought about doing a 2020 SS bumper? I know you said you like the 16-18 but really the 2020’s look nice with the Bow-tie back on the upper grill and the center of the bumper painted to match the body color.

One of the reasons i wanted a ZL1 style (oem or aftermarket) is the main opening in the bumper is huge especially when compared to 2016-2018 non-ZL1 bumpers. For a 2.0 i like having that big opening for the extra airflow. The 2019 2.0 has the ugly front bumper but the upper and lower grille are still pretty big so lots of airflow to your rad and ic. With the 2016-2018 style bumper the center plastic bar running across is pretty wide vertically but at least it is pushed way up giving the upper grille a low vertical space and the lower grille a much larger vertical space so still good for airflow.

But anyways from what i've read the ZL1 didnt change front ends at all from 2018 to 2019? so it has the same headlights for both those years. But the 2.0, V6 and V8 in 2016-2018 got new headlights in 2019-2020? So i should be able to look at aftermarket bumpers for 2019-2020 for 2.0, V6 and V8 right? I'll keep looking at aftermarket bumpers for now that way i wont have to swap out headlights too. Though i doubt i'll find anything...

It is a good idea to fix ugly 2019 front, but for you is the cheapest way paint it like 2020.
ZL1 front i saw on AA web site, but long time there is no availability of this bumper. Looks like you can buy standart ZL1 bumper and modify upper grill by yourself

У него есть модель 2019 LT. В 2020 году для LT изменений не произошло. Только модель SS изменилась на 2020 год.

Guy that sits next to me is named Sergey and he moved to US from Ukraine when he was a kid. I get a little practice with him. Plus Duolingo.
