There is no firm date yet. I would assume not till after the first run or later.

because somewhere back in time somebody told them a story of the waves merging at the collector and creating a negative pressure wave to help evacuate the gass from the other tubes AND so goes the story if the tubes are equal length meaning the exhaust pulses would arrive evenly spaced you would get further benefits. Turns out the story is true on inline engines and flatplane 90 degree V8, but any NORMAL v8 that you know of the pulse waves occur at all different times, hence the 1965 289 Mustang went to a tri-Y and so did GM in the LT1 for the Camaro only. The old OHV Ford 5.0 went to shorty unequal length. So yep equal length headers work just not on normal 90 degree V8 unless you want to pass tubes under or over the engine.

This pulsation overlap is so bad that the GT500 went to a supercharger vs twin turbo and it was because the engine is normal crank V8.

Here is a barrel of snakes header for the GT40 in an effort to create an equal pressure wave header:

Sheesh oldman, you are dropping some good knowledge on me today! Thanks!!!! In the back of my mind, I always wondered exactly how the equal lengths theory worked with an out of sequence firing order.

Question for CSP Andrew,

On my past 2016 Camaro SS kooks Long tube headers I had a set of ACCEL Extreme 9000 Ceramic Spark Plug Wire Sets 9070C. The number 3 plug on the ceramic plug wire would rest on the header, u can’t bend the ceramic part. Have you tested any plug wire sets like these to see if they fit?

Thanks

2" or 1 and 7/8ths. I forget which number so either 3 or 4 plug, my closest on my Kooks is driver side 2nd plug. I use the factory wire, toss off the metal protector, cut some of the rubber away made to support the metal protector at the very end of the black boot. use fiberglass heat shield sleeve, I also used metal tie wire to make sure the sleeve was tight against the wire... It is actaully quite ugly but it has never give me any issues. The fiberglass is black in a small area but not burned thru and the wire itself looks brand new. I actually went and got bent ceramic boot wires but never put them on! LAZY...

1 7/8. I hope the number 3 spot does give a bit more room, I would like to pick up another set of these plug wire set with the CSP headers.

Here’s a pic on the number one. Don’t think I have a pic of the number 3 trouble spot.

Your part number looks the same as mine, but mine have an angle. You can see where I cut away the stock wire rubber and installed the boot, as well so effort to make the sleeve tight against the wire

I would think they're all comparable but I've been told by two respected sources that the tsp 2" reign supreme.. idk by how much or if there's a negative that comes with the extra tid bit of power.

Interesting. Even if all was equal performance wise, I'd go with TSP based on price alone if starting over again. It appears tsp has resolved the fitment issues that plagued their earlier sets. If indeed they are slightly superior in term of performance, that's just icing on the cake!

Agreed, good price, best performance and they've gone on to improve the fitment of the product and address the steering shaft bolt.

These csp ones look good too, seems the fitment and price are also pretty desirable.

Cat version will not be until at least after first run sells. Also, we have not tested them with Accel wires. In experience those wires perform well, but the ceramic boot can cause issues not present in other wires.
