anyone cancel ZL1 for C8??

wonder if the specs made anyone change their mind, the 6th Gen looks like the last gen Camaro for a while, the ZL1 is an amazing beast, but I wonder if some will jump ship for a Vette that has a better price point

I’ll be holding off until 2022 or 2023 to get a C8 ZO6.

It has crossed my mind. The C7 did nothing for me but I am really digging the C8.

This, by then my kid will be big enough where the back seat won't serve me much purpose anymore.

I love my ZLE but I like the look and specs of the C8 so much I'm considering selling it. The LT2 C8 with Z51 has such great performance potential, I might not miss the massive power of the ZL1. But it wont be out until later in 2020, there won't be good deals until later, and we should wait awhile to see if there are bugs and how it handles heat on the track.

With mid-engine, 495 HP, DCT, the nice interior and real storage space, it seems like a 911 killer to me. It would be a decent daily driver just like the 911 is for many here in LA. And perhaps kill the standard (non GT) 911s on the track, all for under $70k. It's seems too good to be true.

Btw, didn't mean to quote the last post :-)

Couldn't have said it better. I wasn't even mildly interested in a mid-engine until the reveal. I figured the C8 would be interesting but we'd just get a variation of a European model car with an hellacious price.
Chevy really hit it out the park with this one, how can you not be impressed!
I still want some real world experiences on how the cars performs in all areas before I officially jump on the band wagon though.

The "better price point" is an assumption until the full prices come out. The Z51 with basic options would probably be higher than our ZL1's I'm sure, especially for the prices for our cars. I do love the new style/performance. GM kinda hurt themselves in the past with cars that have Achilles Heel first or second year like heat issues etc. I hope for the best but don't trust my 70K + for a C8 yet.

It would be nice to have both but down have the room.
Maybe I can talk the wife into giving up her spot in the garage....
Just a thought.

I like the Vette but I lean towards pony cars and not the super car styles. 495hp and no manual would be a step back to me. I daily and luv the comfort and passing power the ZL1 has. Would need the Z06 to get me thinking and that ain’t gonna be anywhere near the $58k OTD before TTL I paid. That said the interior of the Vette looks sweet minus the steering wheel. If there is a 7th Gen Camaro, I hope they can carry the center console up the dash and turned toward the driver like the Vette. Can’t blame anyone for trading in a ZL1 for a Vette, just not for me in current offering. Gotta be able to do water runs if needed too.

That’s not good on the back.
