I need help "driving modes"

So all of a sudden an icon on my dash appeared. The letter "S." I've learned this stands for sports mode. I see I can also switch to Touring and Snow. As of last week none of these were on. There wasn't an icon. My steering felt completely different. How do I go back to how I had it before? Thanks for anyone's help.

There's a button on the console behind the shifter that changes the modes. Press it and cycle through to the one you need. Normal mode is Tour. I accidentally tap it sometimes when putting something in the console or resting my hand near the shifter. The steering feel is definitely a result of the sport option.

Cycling through mine I don't notice any difference between Sport Mode and Touring Mode. Steering feel feels the same and I do not have the high performance exhaust so it sounds the same too. Are there differences that you can't feel? I have just a 1LT V6, manual, not as SS.

On my 2SS you can define in the drive mode setting in the headunit if you want the steering to be automatic, which changes with each drive mode or you can choose what you always want it to be. My guess is its set on one and doesnt change automatically. I keep my steering on tour and my exhaust in Track, but usually always drive in sport.

You might want to take a look at your 2017 Camaro owners manual, Driver Mode Controls, pages 236-241. Believe it will answer your questions.

This!

I have exhaust locked into Track, steering locked into Sport, and generally drive in sport but sometimes toggle to Touring if the roads are really bad.

I double tap the button when I start up to turn off the nannies and get into Stabilitrak Competitive Mode. I turn on rev matching with the paddle and I'm ready to go.

It must be just the steering on our cars then. There is nothing else to change since they are more or less base.

I am not sure why your icons could be missing. Maybe it was a glitch. I have a 2SS but one of my friends has the 1SS and there is somethings that I have noticed that's different between the two. This could be same for the 1LT and 2LT as well. The 2SS when you switch thru the modes..it will change the stiffness of the steering wheel, exhaust sounds & accelerations and tighten the suspension. The 1SS just tighten the steering wheel & exhaust sounds and I believe the acceleration as well. I have mines setup up as Steering:Sport, Exhaust:Track, and Suspension: Based on auto mode selector meaning when I push the button it adapts. I dont think the suspension change on the LT models.

I have an RS (V6) automatic. According to the vehicle documentation, Sport mode tightens the feel of the steering and changes the shift points on automatic. If you have Mag Ride Control it will be adjusted as well. Finally, if you have active exhaust it will open earlier an more often.

Snow/Ice mode adjust transmission to provide more traction.

No Track mode on V6.

The problem is I've owned the car for 2 years and "NEVER" seen the Touring or Sport icons on the dash before.... So you guys are saying one of these modes is required?
Does touring get the best gas mileage?

Factory function for the car is having the car run in one of the modes at all times. There's never been a way to not be in a mode. Maybe if you had a picture from before it started or maybe visit your dealer if you're under warranty and ask.

The default is Tour, but you can switch through them and see if one was the one you had prior

I'll have to check next time I'm in the car, but I don't recall always seeing the mode I'm in. It always shows when I change to a mode, but I think it may disappear after a while.
