Watched and dvr recorded the install on Engine Power this morning! It looks like a beautiful kit and install looked a little lengthy but everything is there to do it the correct way. I laughed when the installer kept asking for the boost to get turned up more! 615 hp and 620 torque at only 9 lbs of boost with stock fuel system!

I have to check it out! That must have been with the smaller turbo size option, no?

This kits cost is justified in the HP ceiling. A P1 may be cheaper but you will need a F1A-94 with upgraded intercooler/bov/and longtubes to match power level. And an ATI or similar crank balancer.

In short its not a kit for bolt on stock motor power unless you REALLY want to spend extra money.

However for us guys that will not go as far as doing forged internals or don't want more than say ~620whp, does this kit really give better real world results than a supercharger setup? It seems the end power may be the same, except with more lag and heat. It seems this kit would be more for the guy that wants crazy power beyond what the stock LT1 can handle. Or am I completely wrong with my assumptions. I am just curious if the price tag is worth it for someone like myself or this kit is more geared toward the guys that want the fastest car possible.

I guess what I am asking is, what does this have over a typical centri/PD setup to justify the price.

The turbos the kit comes with are good for 1200hp....

Well, if it made 615 / 620 on 9PSI, how much to get to 1200? Say the LT1 dynos 400 stock, then that is an increase of 200WHP, or 22.22WHP per PSI of boost. 22.22 * 54 = 1200. I don't really see that happening, so either my math is bad or there must be different turbo size options.

You are assuming static gains without accounting for timing, efficiency gains from a cam, etc. You are also comparing 1200HP ceiling to 620 WHEEL HORSE POWER. Boost is a measure of restriction as well. So if the setup is made more efficient it might make 1000 WHP only 18 psi.

I think this kit would be amazing on the LT4 platform.
Add a cam with a bigger fuel pump lobe and DSX fuel system and this system should make 1K HP on the LT4s.

Time to start saving my pennies.

Right. Which is why this setup seems to be aimed more toward the ZL1 / forged internals guys and not really the stock LT1 ones. From a marketing standpoint I guess I just wonder how that makes any sense. Not that the kit isn't awesome, because I think it's badass. I just know there are a lot of people on this forum that got their centri,PD blower setups that may feel a little buyers remorse after seeing this beast, but they really shouldn't at all. I am very interested to see the power curve at the ~600whp range.

6266 x2 so your hotside is 66mm. Its the equivalent of running a 93mm single turbo.
