lol...i stand corrected..
altho, other than being cheaply made and ugly as hell, i never really heard of anything bad about the high-point. Demo-ranch did a torture test of it and it took a hell of a beating and still ran fine.Well, as fine as a High Point. A gun is a gun, as long as it goes bang when i want/need it to., dont really care what it looks like. Id rather have a High Point than nothing at all. FWIW, it was spontaneous because i stopped in the gun store on my way home to burn some time before i met the wife for dinner. Didnt intend to purchase anything but the guy said he had just purchased it about an hour ago. Sold it to me at that price so he didnt have to make a for sale tag for it.

Exactly what I was discussing with the wife today, especially with one saying he was coming to take everybody's AR's. I remember a few years back when certain ammo was difficult to come by because of talk from candidates.

Been saving up for an SA M1A Scout Squad in Flat Dark Earth. Looks like they have discontinued that color, and it is nearly impossible to find new ones online. Bummer.

Ok guys, i have some questions for the DIY AR platform builders here. Im looking into starting to build my ARs now instead of buying completed rifles. i like the thought of being able to modify and build on a platform to suit my needs and wants. my question is, with all the options on every part of the rifle, what are some good sites to purchase parts?
im gonna start with a run of the mill build, just to run through the build process, but eventually i want to build a pretty badass precision gun with higher end parts. what are some sites that you have used personally for a basic build as well as sites for higher end parts?

For basic builds I use Midway, Cheaper than Dirt, Midsouth Shooters Supply, and Palmetto State. Basically whoever is cheapest atm.
For high end builds, the only difference between a high end build and basic blaster is the barrel. You can use the above to get everything else and MIGHT find a good high end barrel on Midway or Palmetto State but wouldn't bank on it. Most of the time you will have to order the barrel from the manufacturer. I don't do high end builds so I don't know much about this area. Forums that specialize in AR's like AR15.com would have info you're looking for in this regard. |

PSA will sell you a complete rifle kit for $300. Full lower parts kit with FCG, buffer tube assembly, completed upper. You just have to provide your own lower which I believe Andersons are still $29.
It was $269 but panic buying.
