2016 LGX in limp mode constantly

Go figure, i finally ordered my procharger-supercharger kit 3 weeks ago and the car goes down.



codes are:



P0090 - Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit

P00C8 - Fuel Pressure Regulator Solenoid Supply Voltage Control Circuit / Open


P228C - Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Performance - Low Pressure


I ran this car on E-85 for about a year, I noticed about a month ago, under WOT the car would splutter out a bit and would instantly go into limp mode, about a week ago, i switched over to the 93 Octane tune, it seemed to have fixed itself, then it got progressively got worse to the point i'm at now. car will not stay out of limp mode on start, i was able to get a few logs with HPTuners if anyone would like to chime in. did replace HPFP with a used HPFP i had from a prior engine, no change at all.

Follow this link to #PIP5361 that details a potential wiring cause for your issue:

The P0090 with P00C8 are circuit codes and indicate something is wrong in the wiring, which is where I'd start troubleshooting the issue. Whether it is the connector indicated in the TSB, I can't be sure, but this would potentially cause an open circuit...

The X161 connector should be located at the rear of the engine, near the valve cover on the driver's side.

Generally you'd need to replace the terminals and/or connector so that you have good contact between the terminals.

There are some hacks you could do like slightly bending the terminal, or tying to tin it with a little solder to make it thicker. Both of these have as much potential to cause additional damage as they do to improve the contact tension...
