The way they're pushing us to get EV training, it wouldn't surprise me if something like this doesn't happen. They just announced a couple weeks ago that our Equinox and Blazer will be fully electric in 24

I read an article this morning about the EPA jumping their last insane demands on auto manufactures, and raised the EPA to 40, or 42 MPG ( I forgot which it was) by 2026. Cars are going to be pure trash.

If they spell it CamEro I’m going to go postal, total bullshit. As if electric wasn’t bad enough.

Don't panic just yet. Fleet standards aren't calculated like the sticker fuel economy is. It's a fairly stupid and arcane formula, but don't think we've all got to drive Geo Metros because of it. The stupidest part is it encourages larger and larger vehicles because 'footprint' is one of the variables. Notice how today's 2 row SUVS are as big as yesterday's 3 rows and pickups keep getting bigger a few inches at a time? That's why.

What it will do is make everything more expensive as manufacturers buy credits to sell the more popular models, make cars bigger to comply, and phase out proven drivetrains. Might as well start commuting in a 3/4 ton to save the planet...

They already phased out proven drive trains, now we have cylinder deactivation etc. Not very reliable!
