Stock Airbox MSE (sound tube) Clip Part #?

Hey guys, I was installing the GMPP CAI and the instructions require you remove the MSE (sound tube) clip (circled in red in the pic attached) and reinstall on the CAI.

Well... I broke the darn clip and I cannot find a new one.

Does anyone know the part # for this item or maybe someone has a stock airbox and is willing to donate or sell me the clip, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!Name: 1.png

Unhappy No luck.

Did the same thing. Did a little digging and couldn't find anything. Unless you can find it in a junkyard or on another car you would have to buy that entire part :/.

I also looked around a bit and couldn’t find this with the mounting tab. With a little creativity, epoxy and patience you might be able to create a connection that works well. Cut off the head of a plastic bolt, drill a hole that would have clearance for the bolt size of your choice. After that epoxy the bolt into the clamp and use the plastic nut to attach the clamp to the air box. Add a touch of glue on the threads to keep the nut secure.

I’m going to still look for an original.

Here’s a link to the clamp. The OD of the tube measured 1-1/8” and the ID of the clamp in its largest relaxed size measured 1-3/8”

A nice little plastic nut and bolt kit.

A couple confirmation of size pictures too.

Thanks, Jan

You could take a wide zip tie and drill a hole for a Christmas tree type plastic tab to lock it against the housing. Same could be done with a stainless hose clamp. Drill it and fix it in place with a locking plastic device.

Be sure to check at the bottom of C6's site in "member classified's-pay it forward, free give away" forum.

Right now there is a stock 2016 OE air filter/intake being offered, I believe.
I've tried giving away the whole sound tube assembly there including clamps, etc... (no responses- threw it away) and the OE sway bars from my '17 SS (no responses- recycled them!). There is also a 2019 airbox with tube "looking for a new home".

Folks are trying to give good stuff away every day.

bought the clamp from ebay since amazon was out. but i used a size 6 sheet metal screw and it works, not too wide not too narrow. i used a very small drill bit to go through the clamp and the filter house of the CAI intake. the length of the screw doesnt need to be longer than a 1/4" unless you want to go through the insultation. i would recommend putting some locktight on the screw before screwing it in so it doesnt come loose in the future.

Thanks again for the recommendation
