Passenger door doesn’t lock??

Hello, I’m experiencing an issue where the passenger door will not lock manually or with Key Fob. If opening from outside the alarm goes off. Looking for help, thanks guys.

Still under warranty? If it is, go to the dealer. Did you check to see if there is a service bulletin on this?

I’ve never heard of that one. What do you mean by manually... when you press the lock button from inside the car on the drivers door?

Yes, hitting the lock button on door. initially the door wouldn’t open from the outside and I had to open it from the inside. It hasn’t been locking since then. I’m going to make sure the passive locking is on. I have an appt with the dealer on Tuesday to have the summer wheel/tire set out put back on. I’ll tell them about it if I can’t figure it out by then.

Sounds like it's the actuator in the door, defects happen.

I've had lock solenoids fail.

It happens.

Fix it.

Was the dealer able to fix the issue? My car just started having the same issue today.

I had that too - found out by walking up to the passenger door and setting off the alarm when I opened it! The actuator was replaced under warranty.

Did you go to a locksmith company nearby or simply called the dealer? The issue of locked doors happens to my car weekly. I tried to understand why and when the doors lock for no reason, but with no success. I asked for help from local locksmith finsbury company, and now wait what they are going to tell me. I hope it will be fixed soon.

Probably more in there than a solenoid, etc.
Lock module may be the better descriptor. I have replaced these on other GM cars with used units off eBay. On those cars it was plug-and-play, without any need for a Tech2.
