Does water go through hood vents

Hey guys, when it rains, or wash the car, where does the water that goes through the hood vents head to? I have headers and spark plug wires and wonder if the water can affect any of them? Always been traumatized about the water getting in the vents. Thank you.

I think the rain/water from the hood vents ends up draining between the radiator and front of the engine. Nothing to worry about if you don’t take out the bottoms of the hood vents under the hood.

This, it seems to drain down the front of the engine without causing issue... It you take the water deflector out, that will be a different story...

When I come out of a touchless wash, there will be some steam for a little while. Goes away in about half a minute.

Never had steam come out in the rain.

As others said, if you have the deflector on, you won't have any issues, and it's not like we(SS owners) ever have to take the deflector out on the track like ZL1 owners have to.

I’ve also got a 2017 model with the two hood vents and agree with the others it drains between the motor and radiator. As long as you keep the duct work under the hood you shouldn’t have any water issues

Be careful removing the water deflector, we had a deluge 6/13/20 and many stalled cars in intersections...

The soap from a car wash will sometimes soak into the hood insulation around the vents giving it a whitish color. You can remove it by washing it with a moist towel.
