is it safe to drive the car (z1) after header install?
Sorry for the question I know I've seen a few times on a search but I always see conflicting answers.
My exhaust is finally getting delivered today, kooks 1 7/8" no cats to a kooks mid pipe and borla s type mufflers. I'm hoping to have it installed this weekend. I also went and got some new spark plugs, LTR7IX-11 ngk 6510, cause why not. Anywho, the tuner is about 12-14 miles away. Is it OK to drive the car to the shop without hurting anything? I know I'll get check engine lights cause of the no cats. I can take the freeway which is 95% of the travel and just go slow (aka stay out of boost) or should i take the streets and only stick to a max mph? |

Yes, just don't drive it hard and you'll be absolutely fine. I did the same thing in fact.

You have to have the 32 O2 sensor codes turned off before you remove the cats or it will set permanent codes.
