In car video of Maggie gettng dialed in on thpsi Port Injection

Well we made it to the Ls Fest with no issues. Got checked in and made it back to the hotel. Mike made it in from Cali to wire the PI and controller. Got it fired up after about 1.5 hours on the install. Then he worked on the tune since he basically had already made the file for the PI. He made 4 or 5 runs on I65 and logged those runs, he came back and made some changes after each run. We were on E72, Low side was 72 psi, 24.5 degrees of timing shifting at 6300 rpms with boost right at 8.8 psi. He said the car rips like a freight train and we will see if the train can rip down the track tomorrow. He thinks its probably making 640 rwhp and hopefully run 10.50 or quicker if it will hook. Later tater, got to get some sleep, up at 6 and to the track at 7 am with first passes starting at 9.

Thanks, we sure hope all goes well this morning. No car with this PI has been down the track yet so we will give it a little hell and maybe more later.

That seems like an awful lot of timing for a LT1.

I was thinking the same thing. Tons of E85 in it, maybe dial back an extra degree and a half for the safety net.

The tuners I have conversated with on SBE LT1 stuff don't like to run more then 20-21. Mine trapped 136 on 18.5 degrees with E40. I am back up to 19.5 degrees and E60 with the larger injectors. It went from 1.49 g/cyl in 50-degree air to 1.57 g/cyl in 70-degree air but I am waiting for fall air to come before I run it again. I am sure it will make a little more with even more timing, but I don't believe it's worth pushing for a number.

Either way this was supposed to be a conservative build and it's already set on kill. lol

Nope we are good, logs are great and went 10.34@135 w/1.50 60 ft. I left the traction control on accidently or it probably would have went in the 10.20s. Port Injection is awesome, doing that with just the additional JMS and keeping the pressure up was stellar. Second pass I turned all the nannies off and it didn't hook. One more pass today. No good air here today either. Right now we are 2744, my second pass it was about the same and first pass it was about 2000 DA.

That's a great pass.

The thing with E is that it's hard to get it to knock. Are you guys reading plugs?

Guess the addition of port injection significantly raises the timing threshold sbe. Definitely enticing going for toohighpsi port injection set up, even centrifugal and sbe in my case.

PS: congrats laynlo, I knew you would be knocking on 9s. This ain't your first rodeo.

This project sure has a positive outcome. That time and MPH is nice especially at almost 9 psi. Have fun tomorrow!

How happy are you with the new setup?

Awesome man! It’s be interesting to do a $$$ study between what I did and what the PI cost. I think I had a little over $4K in LPE Pump/+30 injectors. However without a cam I can’t turn it up too much more. Sky is the limit for you when you really want to turn it up. $$$ difference will really benefit PI at higher hp levels. Very nice!
