IN the moment it activates and displays and you see it you can very easily be outside the parameters in that way as you continue to accelerate and get the alert but not the forced shift. Too as above you can side step with a wiggle in neutral then to 2d, if you want.

But I'm a believer in that if you drive that way such that you get a 1-4 skip shift you deserve every bit of the pain that it entails.

Pretty sure it comes on due to the traffic if front of you. At least mine does. But since I have an eliminator, the only thing I need to think about is how am I going to get around this idiot, not, ok, maybe if I just wait until rpm and speed builds, or I could go from 1-3, or maybe wiggle the shifter. Best $12 I've ever spent. Well, at least since beer was $12 for a twelve pack.

I have never had the need to skip shift be an issue. Maybe I dont drive this thing right since I never shift out of 1st below 2000 rpm. Should I be shifting sooner?

To maximize fuel economy, yes, if that is your goal. That is the point of the 1-4 gating.
Otherwise, like you, I don't see the need to install this gadget.

I had the skip shift function activate a couple of times while driving in town on my way home from the dealership, but not that often. I already had the skip shift eliminator sitting at home, as I had ordered it months before thinking it would be a bigger deal than it really was, so I installed it anyway before the next time I took the car out, but with my driving situation I probably could have gone without it. I don't have to deal with much stop-and-go traffic, which is where I feel it would affect me the most.

Now that I have the eliminator installed however, I can drive the car like any other manual I've driven and not even have to think about it. That alone was worth the cost (and the aggravation of the install).

Yes, the installation was brutal. I handed mine to the dealer tech who was doing the first oil change and said, "Here, can you install this while it's on the lift?"

I don't mind a little hard work. I can watch someone do it all day long

If you drive so slow to trigger 1->4 skip, why do you even care about putting 2nd gear? I prefer to go 1>3>5>6 anyway when I am just chilin'... It feels better, smoother, when you go thru all gears at low throttle it feels like you have too much gears...

Yeah it was a pain in the ass. I tried it, couldn't reach, then the wife tried it and couldn't figure out where it went. Finally I got it close and she was able to reach in and finish it. It was a good spouse bonding moment lol.

Does anyone have a short video on a 22 LT1 (or SS) showing exactly where this is? Not just a picture. Everything i've found is older models and I want to see exactly what it would look like on my car and where I should be looking before I jack it up.

My '22 LT1 displays the shift suggestion from 1 to 4, but doesn't lock me out from gears 2 or 3......

Bought the car new, perhaps an anomaly?

No, like others have said your rpm has to remain low, it's actually hard to trigger it. The display will show the alert but you can easily come out of the parameters as the message pops up. It then doesn't lock you out. Skip shift eliminator seems pointless in my experience.

Also, there is (was? I had a 2017) a small delay on the message popping up, and you could be past the lockout window and shifting when the message would be showing.

I can't remember it ever bothering me enough to seek a 'solution' for it.

Man, I tried to get it to activate - low RPM - still couldn't get it.

I'll just assume it's in there somewhere to avoid a gas guzzler tax and shut my mouth =)

Thanks for the info on the system....
