SO in MY case I could run the SM-10 19 x 11 wheel with the ET35 offset wheel with a 13MM spacer which also is the same as ET22 offset. This then would be a spacer a little over HALF an inch. I have an SG3 suspension upgrade though and therefore DO NOT have MRC and those MRC struts give you a little LESS room to the inside of the wheel. With my 5MM spacer, I DO NOT have to run extended studs because I use an extended lugnut that has threads that start INSIDE the lugnut hole of the wheel. With this I can get about 12-13 thread engagement on the STOCK stud. A good rule of thumb is you want at LEAST 10 thread engagement. WITHOUT the extended lugnut and using a 5MM spacer, you can only get 6-7 thread engagement on the stock wheel stud. HENCE the reason for using the extended threaded lugnut. Again the main issue to me is running the car with tire poke at the TOP of the wheel well regardless of the size of the spacer. It is NEVER a good idea especially on the street. Potentially the top of the tire could come in contact with the body and especially at high speed that would NOT be good.. I know for instance on a section of the track that I road race alot on, I will go airborne on the RIGHT front tire going over a transition section in the track and if I had tire poke, the tire would no doubt compress enough to make contact with the top of the wheel well. At that SPECIFIC point I am probably going over 100MPH.

I would agree that particular car could use a bit more camber up front, but there are no issues with the fender lip contacting the tire, even under compression. There's not that much stroke in the strut to get down that far, it would hit the bump stop.

Any deals on the new 18 inch wheels? and what were the specs again?
Will it limit you on running a wide tire on front or rear?

I would be interested in a 18 x 10.5 direct fit front for my SS. Any future plans?

It isn't horrible, but there are SOME for sure. More with the APEX but... having the extra grip is a worthwhile tradeoff to me. I run the 3R and the combo saves me several seconds depending on the track. I'm running them for track only, with very occasional street drives when I am too lazy to swap back to stock after track days. I'm not a very active forum guy, but glad to answer questions on Facebook (Mark Ross) or Instagram @metalmark_ST_1LE |

The Sprint line of forged wheels is available for pre-order now in the Group Buy, while the flow formed SM-10 wheels will be on sale for Black Friday. You can find details for both of those on our website. |

Photos from the past 2 weekends
Hey fellas, just had a great weekend at Thunderhill, Sonoma, and Laguna only to come back home to a NASA AZ weekend where I set a TT3 track record. Lots of work but an epic 2 weekends. 19x10.5 ET22 Anthracite wheels with 305/30R19 tires.

I had a guy in a HIGHLY modfied MIATA with power upgrades as well who was a very good driver come up to me this last weekend and said I was the only one he pointed by him the whole weekend in the RED GROUP. He couldnt fanthom the concept of a 3700 pound camaro being faster in the CORNERS that his Miata. I think is was a WTF moment for him but I assured him that it took ALOT of work to get the car set up that way. LOL The car is fairly easy to drive but you have to have a little bit of a Mario Andretti in you to push the car just up to the limit of adhesion with the nannies turned off assuming of course you have slicks and some pretty incredible brakes. I quite frankly am having a hard time staying square in the seat but since this car is also a daily driver I am reluctant to change out to a full blown racing seat.

Is this setup just straight ET22's? Any spacer? Camber plates? Love the look and I like the idea of a square setup.

If this is a square set up with 19x10.5" rims, then the common ET used is 22. If you use this, then a 5mm spacer is needed on the front as well as some grinding on the MRC strut. More information is available about all this with just a little bit of poking around. With an ET of 22, the rears have a slight poke, so some people use an ET 35 on the rear to remove the poke. Not a true, 100% square set up with different ETs, but it still uses the same tire on all 4 wheels, and rotations can still be done, but will require dismounting the tires and remounting them on the other side (and a rebalance).
