Maybe if you did quick search, you’d find what you’re looking for….pages 6 and 7.

Did you have to pay out if pocket?
As my car is out of warranty what would the total bill be parts and labor?

Be gentle..

Just shipping. Send me email with address vsteinigl@gmail.com or I can send you STL and you can print yourself . I did not calculate how much it would cost. Too lazy maybe if there would be more requests.

And it is still holding good:-)

Hey Vico,

I’d love to get a pair if you still have that file. This sliding parts driving me crazy!

extended warranty wont cover it - I bought one through Ally and they told me the panels are trim pieces, which aren't covered by warranty.

Well, the car is six years old today and wouldn't you know it. I go to put the top up and bang, there goes the right panel. The two piece arm that moves it was bent and the fitting on the panel end broke. Oh well. Guess I'll be reading all of the threads to see the best way to fix it.

Mine did the exact same thing a month ago. Considering I don't take it out much, I just manually slide the panel back while closing the top until I fix it. I really don't feel like drilling out the rivet right now. I'll save it for just before winter storage.

ANYBODY KNOW ANY LAWYERS? I've never come close to suing anyone but between the posts about broken sliding panels and the ones about repeated rear window glass coming unglued, I'm thinking we convertible owners should think about it. These seem to clearly be design flaws that are affecting a significant number of owners. It seems that GM ought to own up to the issues with more that technical service bulletins that only alert to costly repairs. I don't know much about class action suits. In this case, a victory would be an extended warranty coverage, say to 10 years for the problems. Since there would be no monetary reward, a potential case would probably not be very attractive to lawyers. Maybe some consumer advocacy organization would be a better route. It just seems like GM should be flipping these bills. Does anyone have any interest or advice about organizing a complaint that might yield results?

here we go....AGAIN

Had both sliding covers replaced in June 2021 but the dealership had no clue about the new regulator being needed, and after the repair was done, I showed them the TSB from Chevy with a diagram of the new regulator & new sliding cover with an extra clip on it, they told me " thanks for bringing that to our attention. There's a 2 year warranty on these pieces - if either piece fails within 2 years, bring the car back for the repair".

Well, the arm for the passenger panel broke today.

This is the 4th set of these panels I've had. I'm done with this design - I have all faith that even if they had installed the regulators, these caps would have broken again anyways.

I may be selling this 2LT & looking to other manufacturers for my next convertible.
