wideband install

I was looking into installing a Innovate DLG-1 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/inn-3891/overview/ I looked it up on you tube and found the a video
where they installed it in the rear o2 bungs behind the hiflow cats on a 16 Camaro SS with LT headers. Thought that would be convenient. Then I read the instructions for the gauge and it said not to install after the cats as it will skew the reading lean. Iv seen tuners tune with the o2 in the exhaust tip. Is having the o2s installed after the high flow cats ok?

I should have bought a ZL1

I just received the AEM 30-0334, and the instructions say the same thing, "Upstream of any catalytic converters". I know I've seen some headers that come with a Wideband port already welded into the collector (in addition to the O2 sensor bungs), but I can't remember if my Stainless Works headers have that. I guess I'll have to climb under there today and see, I'm doubting it. Sure would be nice though....

Did mine a few inches upstream of the primary cat on the driver's side.

So is everyone running wiring all the way out to the fuse box for their switched power, or is there a more convenient source under the dash somewhere? I also notice it says to use a 5a fuse on that power source.

ARH will put them in if you request it.

WB needs to be installed before the cats, not after them. unless you want to have the tune be skewed.

I know the sensor is “supposed” to be installed before the cat, per the instructions. But why is it that when you go to a dyno, they stick the sensor up the tailpipe? Maybe a different sensor or something? I find it odd, because I’ve had a very well-known and respected tuner on this forum (who shall remain nameless) tell me to just install the sensor in one of the aft O2 ports behind the cat! He will be doing my tune. But maybe it’s because I have 2” headers w/ HF cats? Or maybe because my car is just a basic bolt-on car not pushing any crazy HP? I’m conflicted!

I was told they know how far off there wideband is. But would different cats affect that?

I don’t know, could be!?!?! Maybe because the HF cats have less restriction? I’m not sure which way to go now! I can’t see the cost of welding the bung in before the cat as being very expensive, so maybe I should just do it so there is no doubt.

Ya wouldn't cost much but my headers are ceramic coated so I don't want to grind it off and have a hot spot.
