Transmission Temp Message LT V6

Hi,

Today coming back from a 20 mile trip the digi speedometer read 'Transmission level too high 172 degrees'. By the time I got home it read 174 degrees.

The car hadn't been driven much lately and has 3076 miles.

No leaks under the car.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Highest I've seen on my V6 is about 135, but the outside temp was about 50. What temp is this occurring at?

I would check to make sure it has fluid. Then I would change the fluid. I would use redline D6.

It was sunny and in mid 70s. The car has driven in 110, no issues. Only recent service was an oil change that was done 2.5 months ago.

That doesn't seem normal. Were you driving fast / high RPM / heavy load?

It's normal to have a trans temp too high message? Doesn't seem like that's normal.

They are real good about moderating the silliest things yet let some get away with murder. This is why everyone is just going to the facebook groups.
