Iv been thinking about putting a bushing or a sealed bearing on the butterfly shaft.

My FM has a slight buzz to them but nothing like the stock rattle. Perhaps over time they will deteriorate to shit as well. For now they just sort of hum, which I can only hear when I'm standing in the back or when the windows are down in a garage, but it is faint. The stock was noticeable on the highway, windows up, over all of the road noise.

My dealer tried the Epoxy fix, didn't work. Advised they are ordering and replacing exhaust.

I used a Dremel to clean the dealer applied epoxy all around the ceramic pin this weekend. I mixed up some more quick setting epoxy, closed the valves and put some on and then opened them and put some on the other side of the valve. So far so good, I can't detect a rattle anymore. I also previously took out the AFM valves also, but they appear like they were never the problem. I think its critical that whoever applies the epoxy needs to make sure the surface is properly cleaned, also most epoxy require the surface to be sanded or roughened up before it is applied.

So I don't have any pictures, it did clean it up nicely. But unfortunately the rattle is now back again, I guess I will clean it off again and try a different epoxy, or I may try high temperature RTV silicone just to see what happeneds. Yeah I don't think it will work, but I don't have anything else I know I can do.

I respect your efforts to chase this down, but I'm unfortunately going to revert to what I said before. There's no fixing this.

However, I'd push this to Chevy to get it figured out now that they are well into production. They have to fix this, but it will require a lot of your effort and time. Or you could just punt and buy something aftermarket, which is also a crap shoot given the current offerings.

I've already got over 70k on mine now, so I wouldn't think they would listen being out of warranty. Now I did use just some random epoxy laying around, not the Loctite fixmaster that is in the TSB.

Is this still a problem with 2018 and 2019 vehicles with NPP? I thought surely GM would have updated their system by now. My 2016 2SS with NPP rattles and has been epoxied twice. I'm going to ask for a replacement exhaust next trip to the dealer for this.

For comparison, my Hellcat has a similar exhaust system that does NOT rattle.

So we pay about $900 for upgraded npp exhaust and the forum recommendation is to spend more on aftermarket exhaust?

Borla uses the stock valves. Unless they changed their business model within the last year.
